Kia Sonet
Bookings for the Sonet are already open and Kia has now confirmed that it will announce the prices on 18 September. The Sonet will be available with both petrol and diesel engine options, and there will be a conventional manual, an auto-clutch manual, a dual-clutch automatic and a torque converter type automatic transmission on offer. The Sonet will compete in the B2 SUV segment against the likes of the Hyundai Venue, Honda WR-V, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport, Mahindra XUV300 and Tata Nexon. We expect its prices to start from under Rs 7 lakh. Read more about the Sonet.
Toyota Urban Cruiser
Toyota has not revealed the date on which the Urban Cruiser will launch, but the carmaker is accepting bookings for the Brezza-based sub-4m SUV. It will share its powertrain with the Brezza, but it won’t be a complete rebadge exercise, like in the case of Baleno-Glanza. The Urban Cruiser will look somewhat different from the Brezza and will get a brown interior to distinguish its cabin. It will be the second new launch in the B2 SUV segment in the month of September. Read more about the Urban Cruiser.
Skoda Rapid AT
Bookings for the Skoda Rapid automatic are now open, and Skoda has also revealed the variants in which automatic transmission will be available -- Rider Plus, Style, Onyx and Monte Carlo. Skoda will not offer a dual-clutch transmission with the 1.0-litre, turbo-petrol engine, but will offer a torque converter unit. There is no clear date on which the Czech carmaker will announce the price of the automatic Rapid, but it has announced that deliveries of the automatic version will start from 18 September. Mercedes-Benz will launch its electric SUV EQC in India in September 2020. The carmaker is yet to announce the date on which it will announce the prices of the electric car.
