Volvo XC40 Facelift Revealed Via Online Configurator | V3Cars

Volvo Global have revealed the XC40 facelift via their online configurator. The 2022 Volvo XC40 facelift gets a few design updates along with several new features. Volvo India is likely to launch the XC40 facelift later this year or early 2023.

Speaking of design changes, the XC40 facelift gets a redesigned front fascia. The headlights now get a triangular curve on the inside and the lower bumper gets a redesign with bigger air intakes. On the side, the 2022 XC40 facelift lacks a dual-tone roof, which is offered as standard on the India-spec XC40. At the rear, the facelift continues to sport L-shaped LED taillights and a similar bumper design.

On the inside, there have been only two major changes. Volvo have added a new Android-based touchscreen infotainment unit. This unit is also available in the updated S90 sedan and XC60 SUV. In addition to that, the 2022 XC40 also gets a new digital driver’s display with new display themes. The rest of the cabin layout remains the same as before.

2022 Volvo XC40 Interior

Volvo offer the XC40 with a host of engine options, including mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains. In India, the Volvo XC40 is only offered with a 2.0L turbo petrol engine with a front-wheel-drive drivetrain. The petrol engine produces 190PS of power and 300Nm of torque, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.

2022 Volvo XC40

Volvo India is likely to launch the updated XC40 around late 2022 or early 2023. It is worth mentioning that the XC40 Recharge launch could be pushed ahead, to coincide with the launch of the XC40 facelift. Volvo India revealed the XC40 Recharge last year. However, its launch was postponed owing to the shortage of semiconductor chips.
