2026 Mahindra BE 6 Variants Explained — Which One To Buy?
In this variant explained article, you'll find out which variant of the Mahindra BE 6 you should buy based on the prices, variant-wise features and value for money. Here we compare and objectively analyse the BE 6's variants and their features. Then we will compare the electric motor specs, range, battery capacity and dimensions of the Mahindra BE 6 with its competitors like the Hyundai Creta Electric, Maruti e Vitara, Toyota Ebella, Vinfast VF6 and Tata Curvv EV.
What Are The Pros And Cons Of The 2026 Mahindra BE 6?
The pros or advantages of Mahindra BE 6 2026 are:
- The BE 6’s dramatic styling will attract a lot of attention on the road and help you stand out with this car
- While it’s not as long as the XEV 9e, the BE6 is still very wide; wider than Thar, Thar Roxx, Innova Hycross and even the Fortuner and almost as wide as the Scorpio N, which gives it tremendous road presence
- Even the BE6’s small battery pack is comparable with the larger ones of most other EVs
- The larger, 79kWh battery pack sets the Mahindra BE 6 several leagues apart from other EVs
- Groundbreaking set of technologies and features will give you a new level of ownership experience with the BE 6
- 380Nm of peak torque with all variants makes the BE6 very quick; with the top variant, the 286PS of power is also very sportscar like
- Given the exciting features and pricing, you should expect the car to get price hikes in the future; moreover, if the government starts withdrawing tax incentives for EVs, they will further get pricier; hence, buying early may be a good idea
- The BE 6 is not just a challenger, but a threat to the electric cars from Chinese or Chinese-owned brands like BYD and MG from a truly-Indian carmaker
- 400km+ of real-world range from the smaller battery pack and 500km+ from the larger battery pack makes it a suitable EV even for those who don’t have a home charging option
The 2026 Mahindra BE 6 has the following shortcomings or problems:
- Being a new-gen product from Mahindra, you may encounter some bugs with software as well as hardware during the ownership; if this is important for you, then you should consider waiting one or two years to give Mahindra’s tech team some time to sort out the bugs
- For some buyers, the design of the Mahindra BE6 may be too outlandish
- The torque and power of the BE6, especially with the 79kWh variant, may be too much for some buyers if they aren’t experienced enough to handle high power cars; 380Nm of EV torque is not going to feel like 380Nm of petrol or diesel car torque
- The more spacious, family-friendly and equally advanced XEV 9S is not all that expensive and worth a look
- Missing features like rear window curtains, power front passenger seat and sliding & reclining rear seats
- 79kWh battery pack is limited to the top variant only — Addressed by Mahindra with July 2025 update, which introduced the Pack Two 79
- Staggered production/delivery plan will make the buyers wait longer if they are interested in the lower variants — No longer applicable as demand for the BE 6 has tapered enough that there are discounts available on most variants of the car
What Is The Price Of Mahindra BE 6 Variants?
The Mahindra BE 6 is available in 5 main variants — Pack One, Pack One Above, Pack Two, Pack Three Select and Pack Three. The Pack Two and Pack Three of the BE 6 are the only ones that get the larger 79kWh battery pack option and the top Pack Three variant isn’t available with the smaller battery pack.
The BE6 59 variants cost between Rs. 18.90 lakh and Rs. 24.50 lakh (ex-showroom). The Pack Two 79 and Pack Three 79 variants carry an ex-showroom price tag of Rs. 23.50 lakh and Rs. 26.90 lakh, respectively.

Considering the price of the BE 6 base model, you may miss the following features:
- Parcel tray
- Keyless entry
- Rear window curtains
- Front parking sensors
In terms of features, the BE 6 2026 base variant covers the basics quite well, although there are a few features you might miss later during the ownership. It is reasonably well loaded and worth buying if you have a strict budget ceiling of Rs. 20.0 lakh. For some with a more elastic budget, we would suggest stretching a bit and choosing a higher variant.
2026 Mahindra BE 6 Pack One vs Pack One Above Variant — Price, Feature Comparison
The Pack One Above variant also gets the same battery option and costs Rs. 20.50 lakh. This price is Rs. 1.60 lakh more than the Pack One base model.

- Rear window curtains
- Front parking sensors
- 360-degree camera
- Power-folding mirrors
The Pack One Above 59 gets a few more must-have and good-to-have features but on the value front, it only justifies about 71% of the incremental cost over the base trim. This is the worst VFM score among any of the BE6 variants. So, it is the only BE6 variant we can’t recommend.
2026 Mahindra BE 6 Pack One Above vs Pack Two Variant — Price, Feature Comparison
The Pack Two variant of the Mahindra BE6 also gets the same battery option and costs Rs. 22.40 lakh. This price is Rs. 1.40 lakh more than the lower Pack One Above trim. BE6 Pack Two also gets the larger 79kWh battery pack option, which costs Rs. 23.50 lakh (ex-showroom) and it’s Rs. 1.60 lakh pricier than the Pack Two 59.

If you have come this far and want a nice combination of value for money and feature distribution, then Pack Two is perfect for you. It has a fantastic feature balance and it’s worth buying if you find the 59kWh battery pack enough for your needs.
Still, we would suggest you stretch a bit more and choose the Pack Two 79. The larger battery pack will just make your vehicle more future proof should you need the larger battery pack for road trips or longer commutes later during the ownership. Pack Two 79 is our top recommendation for all BE6 buyers. That means, if you’re considering the BE 6, then you can blindly pick the Pack Two 79 and there’s a very high likelihood that you won’t regret your choice in terms of upfront value for money and feature distribution.
Mahindra BE 6 Pack Two vs Pack Three Select Variant — Price, Feature Comparison
The Pack Three Select variant drops the 79kWh battery option and returns back to exclusively offering the smaller battery pack. It costs Rs. 24.50 lakh, which is Rs. 2.60 lakh more than the Pack Two 59.

In the Pack Three Select variant of the BE 6, you may miss features like:
- Rear window curtains
- Power front passenger seat
- Glass roof lighting
- Comprehensive ADAS hardware suite for more reliable performance
The Pack Three Select 59 is not too shabby in terms of value for money but it may feel lacking in some respects. On the feature front, it doesn’t get the whole suite. On the battery front, it doesn’t get the larger battery pack, which is available in the cheaper Pack Two 79 for Rs. 1.0 lakh less. So, our recommendation here is that you stretch your budget by another Rs. 2.50 lakh or so and grab yourself the fully-loaded Pack Three 79.
Mahindra BE 6 Pack Three Select vs Pack Three 79kWh Variant - Price, Feature Comparison
The BE 6 top model, Pack Three, is only available with the larger 79kWh battery pack option and costs Rs. 2.40 lakh more than the lower Pack Three Select 59. It carries an ex-showroom price of Rs. 26.90 lakh.

In the Pack Three 79kWh variant, you may miss features like:
- Rear window curtains
- Power front passenger seat
- Glass roof lighting
- Comprehensive ADAS hardware suite for more reliable performance
- Sliding & reclining rear seats
The Pack Three 79kWh top model of the BE 6 has a VFM score of 86%. That means, for the entire incremental cost over the BE 6 base trim, you’re getting 86% worth of perceived value back in terms of features, performance and range. While Pack Two 79 remains our top recommendation, for a feature-rich ownership experience, the BE6 top model remains a solid choice. It is especially true if you are currently considering the Three Select 59.
Which Variant Of The Mahindra BE 6 Should You Buy?
The Mahindra BE6 base model with the smaller battery appears to miss out on a few must-have features. Still, it’s a solid choice for budget-conscious buyers as the list of missing features is not that long. Meanwhile, the higher, Pack One Above 59 variant offers poor value for money for the incremental cost over the base variant. So, the One Above is not recommended.
Pack Two 59 has a healthy balance of must-have and good-to-have features while offering a healthy VFM score of 95%. If the battery capacity is more than enough for your driving requirements, then you can go ahead with this purchase. However, we would suggest you spend a little more and buy it with the larger battery pack. The Pack Two 79 maintains a strong VFM score of 92% and is our top recommendation. The larger battery pack makes your vehicle future proof as it has more than enough range for city as well as highway driving. So, should your driving needs change and if you need longer range, then the 79kWh battery pack will be right there to serve your requirements.
The higher Pack Three Select 59 is a decent option but here too, we would suggest you spend a little more and upgrade to the BE 6 top model. It’ll cost you Rs. 2.40 lakh more in ex-showroom cost alone but your vehicle will become future proof from a feature set angle. Here, you will have to take a small hit in terms of value for money as the VFM score drops from 90% for Three Select 59 to 86% for Three 79. But, it’s only a nominal drop and easy to digest if you intend to keep the car in your possession for the long haul.
What Are The Engine Specifications Of The Mahindra BE 6?
In terms of the specifications, the BE 6 offers 2 battery configurations — 59kWh and 79kWh; although, the larger battery option is limited to the top model costing Rs. 26.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Among mass market EVs with their smaller battery pack option, the BE6 excels with its enormous 59kWh battery pack even on the base variant. Only the VF6 manages to beat it with a small margin here. This smaller battery of the BE 6 is comparable with the larger battery pack option of the eVitara, which gets 61kWh battery pack in the top model. And it's much bigger than that of the Creta Electric’s, larger, 51.4kWh pack.
So, naturally, it has a longer range too. If not for the VF6, the BE 6 would be the car offering the longest range with their base battery pack option.
Its torque output of 380Nm embarrasses the rest of the electric cars, which get a torque output in the range of 193Nm (eVitara) to 310Nm (VF6).

*Realistic mileage includes 15% of typical transmission losses during charging the vehicle
With the larger battery pack option, the BE 6 further demolishes the competition with its enormous 79kWh battery pack and the longest real-world range of more than 500km. The 286PS power figure is also crazy high for a car of this class, size and price range. The BE 6 is a beast and if you’re buying it, you better treat it with respect. Those who don’t have much experience driving such a powerful and torquey car should be a little careful with it, at least during the initial days of ownership while you’re getting accustomed to the behaviour of the car.

What Are The Dimensions Of The Mahindra BE 6?
The BE 6 is wider than the Thar Roxx, Innova Hycross and even Fortuner. You’ll have to be careful managing its width in traffic but this width will also give it tremendous road presence. The BE 6 is the widest among its rivals. However, its length makes it more manageable than the larger XEV 9e and XEV 9S.
Amongst its peers, the BE 6 has the longest wheelbase too. Considerably longer than that of the eVitara/Ebella. It also offers the best ground clearance, boot space and a respectably large frunk. The BE6 also has the largest wheel size measuring up to 19 inches with the option of 20 inches available with special editions. You can count on catching a lot of attention with the BE 6. And it’ll be unlike any other electric, and even several non-electric cars at similar price points.

Article is confusing. In the paragraphs, you give Pack 2 as top recommendation, with 120%. And below in the table, it says not recommended, and pack one above is top recommended
Reply: Fantastic catch. Thanks. It seems like a typo and it must have come from the XEV 9e article, which we used as a template to make the BE 6 since most of the features and the specs table were reusable. MY (V3)
