The pros or advantages of Mahindra Scorpio Classic diesel are:
The Mahindra Scorpio Classic diesel has the following shortcomings or problems:
The Scorpio Classic only gets a diesel-manual powertrain and it’s available in 2 variants - S and S11. The S variant costs Rs. 11.99 lakh while the S11 costs Rs. 15.49 lakh.
The base S variant of the Mahindra Scorpio Classic costs Rs. 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The notable standard features of the Scorpio Classic diesel are:
You’ll miss a few features in the base S variant of the Scorpio Classic, such as:
The S11 top variant of the Scorpio Classic costs Rs. 15.49 lakh (ex-showroom). This price is Rs. 3.50 lakh higher than the base variant.
For the additional sum, you get the following notable features:
In the top variant of the Scorpio Classic, you might miss features like:
Most of the features of the S11 variant are must-have in our opinion. However, these features only justify about 2/3rd of the incremental cost you have to pay for the top variant. Since there is not much choice for Scorpio Classic buyers, we’ll suggest compromising on the value and buying the S11 variant.
However, if you’re not too keen about getting a delivery right away, then you should instead consider buying the Scorpio N Z6 diesel variant, which costs Rs. 50,000 less than the S11 Scorpio Classic. With this variant, you will miss a few features but you’ll get a much bigger SUV, more powerful diesel engine, a more modern cabin experience and a fresh styling.
If you can stretch your budget a little more, then for another Rs. 2.0 lakh over the Classic S11’s price, you can get the Z8 variant of the Scorpio N diesel-manual, which is our top recommendation. It gets modern features like:
With the Scorpio N Z6 or Z8, you’ll miss the option of captain seats in the 2nd row and you'll have to wait for more than a year to get the delivery of your car. But, if you can wait, then the Scorpio N Z8 is a far better option than the Scorpio Classic.
The Scorpio Classic’s base S variant is too basic and doesn’t get several must-have features. So, we can’t recommend the S trim. The S11 is a little expensive for what it offers and doesn’t offer a good value for money. For a decent ownership experience, you can go for the S11 variant and compromise on value.
We will suggest instead booking the Scorpio N Z6 or Z8 diesel-manual variants. The Z6 costs Rs. 50,000 less than the S11 while the Z8 diesel is Rs. 2.0 lakh more expensive. Both of these cars will offer a far better ownership experience as well as value than the Classic S11. The only catch is that you will have a long wait for the Scorpio N while the Classic is more readily available with shorter delivery timelines.
The Scorpio Classic is a one-of-a-kind body-on-frame SUV in the C-segment space. It offers 132PS of power at 3750rpm and 300Nm of torque between 1600 and 2800rpm. The Scorpio Classic claims to deliver a mileage of 16.46kmpl.

In terms of dimensions, the Scorpio Classic falls in the C-segment SUV space. Because of its body-on-frame construction, it has a height of almost 2 metres. The official boot space and ground details aren’t available but we expect it to offer about 209mm of clearance without any underbody protection.
