Team V3Cars tests the fuel efficiency of the Kia Carens Clavis 1.5L turbo petrol DCT with and without an E20 fuel additive to find out if these additives actually improve mileage.
The Kia Carens Clavis is available with 3 engine options: a 1.5L naturally aspirated Petrol, a 1.5L turbo Petrol and a 1.5L turbo Diesel.
The 1.5L naturally aspirated Petrol makes 115PS of power at 6300rpm and 144Nm of torque at 4500rpm. This engine is available with a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT.
The 1.5L turbo Petrol churns out 160PS of power at 5500rpm and 253Nm of torque between 1500 and 3500rpm. The 1.5L turbo Petrol engine gets a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT.
The Carens Clavis’s 1.5L turbo diesel engine produces 116PS of power at 4000rpm and 250Nm of torque between 1500rpm and 2750rpm. It is available with a choice of a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
The Kia Carens Clavis measures 4550mm in length, 1800mm in width and 1708mm in height. It offers a wheelbase of 2780mm, providing good interior space for passengers. The Carens Clavis has a boot space of 216 litres, which can be expanded by folding the rear seats. It also offers a ground clearance of 195mm, helping it clear tall speed breakers and uneven roads with ease. The Carens Clavis comes with a 45-litre fuel tank. The Carens Clavis tyre size for the base model is 195/65 R15, while the top model showcases 215/55 R17 tyres.
