JSW MG Motor India revealed the new HS PHEV SUV at the Auto Expo 2025. Based on the Roewe RX5 sold in China, the MG HS SUV was showcased with plug-in hybrid technology, aligning with India’s increasing focus on electrification. If launched in India, it would likely rival the Tata Harrier and Mahindra XUV700.

The MG HS PHEV features a wide radiator grille, sharp, swept-back LED headlights, 19-inch alloy wheels, and X-shaped LED taillights connected by a light strip. Compared to the Roewe RX5, the HS exhibits a more mature and less aggressive design. Here are the dimensions of the 2025 HS SUV:
The interior features an elegantly designed dashboard, stylish door panels with a quilted pattern and a shuttle-style gear shifter. A flat-bottomed steering wheel is also present. The interior design is simpler compared to the Roewe RX5.

Internationally, the MG HS offers a range of Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), including Lane Keep Assist, Lane Change Assist, Active Emergency Braking with Pedestrian and Bicycle Detection, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Driver Attention Warning.

The MG HS plug-in hybrid combines a 1.5L turbo petrol engine with an electric motor to offer a combined power output of 272PS and a peak torque of 350Nm. The 0-100kmph sprint is achieved in 6.9 seconds while the top speed is rated at 190kmph. Equipped with a 21.4kWh battery pack, MG claim the HS PHEV offers an electric-only range of 100km. The SUV also features a 6.6kW on–board charger.
