With the rising prices of petrol and diesel, CNG has proven itself to be a sensible alternative fuel, especially for intercity commuters. The demand for CNG cars has skyrocketed over the last few years. If you are planning to get one, here’s a list of 7 CNG cars that you can buy for under Rs. 7 lakh (ex-showroom).

Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 CNG

The Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 is currently one of the most affordable cars on sale in India. It is also one of the most affordable CNG models that you can buy today. Maruti offer the Alto 800 in a single CNG variant, which is priced at Rs. 5.13 lakh ex-showroom. It comes with a 0.8L normal petrol engine that produces 41PS of power and 60Nm of torque and offers a claimed fuel efficiency of 31.59kmpkg.

Maruti Suzuki S-Presso CNG

S-Presso

Maruti Suzuki S-Presso is the only SUV-inspired CNG vehicle in the list. Maruti Suzuki offer the S-Presso CNG in 2 variants — LXi at Rs. 5.90 lakh and VXi at Rs. 6.10 lakh ex-showroom. The S-Presso CNG comes with a 1.0L normal petrol-CNG engine that produces 57PS of power and 82Nm of torque and offers a claimed fuel efficiency of 32.73kmpkg.

Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 CNG

The Alto K10 also offers a 1.0L petrol-CNG powertrain but since it is only available in the VXI trim, it's entry price point is higher than that of the S-Presso CNG. The Alto K10 VXi CNG is priced at Rs. 5.95 lakh (ex-showroom), which is Rs. 5,000 more than the S-Presso LXi CNG. The Alto K10 CNG shares its powertrain with the S-Presso CNG and offers similar power and torque figures. However, it offers better fuel efficiency of 33.85kmpkg whereas the S-Presso offers 32.73kmpkg.

Maruti Suzuki Wagon-R CNG

The Maruti Suzuki Wagon-R CNG is one of the best-selling CNG models in the country. Like the S-Presso and Alto K10, it too comes with a 1.0L normal petrol-CNG powertrain, which produces 57PS of power and 82Nm of torque. However, it is more fuel efficient than both the S-Presso and Alto K10, with a claimed efficiency of 34.05kmpkg. Maruti offer the Wagon-R CNG in 2 variants — LXi at Rs. 6.43 lakh and VXi at Rs. 6.88 lakh (ex-showroom).

Tata Tiago CNG

Tiago CNG

The Tata Tiago CNG is the only non-Maruti model in this list. Tata Motors offer the Tiago CNG in 4 variants but only 2 variants fall under the Rs. 7 lakh price bracket — XE at Rs. 6.44 lakh and XM at Rs. 6.77 lakh (ex-showroom). The Tiago CNG comes with a 1.2L normal petrol-CNG engine that produces 73PS of power and 95Nm of torque and offers a claimed fuel efficiency of 26.49kmpkg.

Maruti Suzuki Eeco CNG

The Eeco is the only family mover to offer a factory-fitted CNG option under Rs. 7 lakh (ex-showroom). The Eeco CNG comes in a single 5-seater AC variant, which is priced at Rs. 6.44 lakh (ex-showroom). It comes with a 1.2L normal petrol-CNG engine that produces 70PS of power and 95Nm of torque and offers a claimed efficiency of 26.78kmpkg.

Maruti Suzuki Celerio CNG

Maruti Suzuki offer the Celerio CNG in a single VXi variant priced at Rs. 6.72 lakh (ex-showroom). The Celerio shares its engine with the S-Presso, Alto K10 and Wagon-R but turns out to be the most fuel efficient, with a claimed efficiency of 35.60kmpkg.
