Tata Motors are all set to officially launch their highly anticipated electric SUV, the Tata Harrier EV, tomorrow, June 3, 2025. The launch of the Harrier EV will mark the return of 4x4 Tata SUVs in the country.

The electric Harrier has been a topic of much discussion since its initial showcase as a concept, and its production-ready version later appeared at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. Now, it's finally ready to hit the showrooms. Let’s take a closer look at Tata’s flagship EV ahead of its launch tomorrow.
The 2025 Tata Harrier EV will be built on Tata’s advanced Gen 2 Acti.ev platform, which is a heavily updated version of the OMEGA Arc foundation used by the Harrier diesel. While it will largely retain the bold and muscular styling of the regular Harrier, the EV version will feature distinct design elements to set it apart:

Inside, the Tata Harrier EV is expected to offer a cabin layout similar to the current Harrier, which is known for its spaciousness and premium feel. However, it will come packed with advanced technology and EV-specific touches:
The Tata Harrier EV is engineered for strong performance and a long driving range.

Beyond its electric powertrain, the Harrier EV is expected to retain the rugged capabilities. Teasers have shown the presence of terrain modes like Rock Crawl, Snow, and Sand, which will further support its off-road abilities. Other driving aids include a boost mode for off-roading, a transparent mode, off-road cruise assist, and a 360-degree camera system.
We expect the Harrier EV to offer up to 7 airbags (including a knee airbag), Level-2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), front and rear parking sensors, and more.

While official prices will be revealed tomorrow, the Tata Harrier EV is expected to be priced competitively. We expect Tata Motors to price it around Rs. 25 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base variant, going up to Rs. 30 lakh for the fully-loaded, high-spec variants.
The Tata Harrier EV will enter a rapidly growing segment of electric SUVs, where it will compete with models such as the Mahindra XUV.e9, BYD Atto 3, the Hyundai Creta Electric, and the upcoming Maruti e Vitara. When launched, the Harrier EV will be the only electric SUV to offer all-wheel drive in its segment. However, Mahindra are likely to equip the XEV 9e with AWD to compete against the Harrier EV, and you can read more about it by clicking the link below.
