2026 Maruti Brezza Facelift: Top 5 Expected Changes | V3Cars

Maruti Suzuki are working on an update for the Brezza. In this article, we take a look at the top 5 changes we expect from the 2026 Brezza facelift based on the latest spy shots and industry trends.

2026 Brezza Facelift Top 5 Updates

1. Front Parking Sensors

One of the most useful but often overlooked upgrades expected on the 2026 Brezza facelift is the addition of front parking sensors. The outgoing model offers reverse parking sensors as standard and a 360-degree camera system on the top ZXI Plus variant.

On the current model, front parking sensors are missing even on higher variants, which feels like a gap given the segment has already begun adopting this feature. Adding front parking sensors to the mid and top variants of the Brezza could make a significant difference in daily driving.

2. 6-Speed Manual Transmission

The introduction of a 6-speed manual gearbox could be one of the most meaningful upgrades in the 2026 Brezza facelift. The current 5-speed unit is reliable and easy to use, but a 6th gear would primarily benefit highway users. It would not only improve fuel efficiency by allowing the engine to run at a lower RPM at cruising speeds, but also help offer a more relaxed driving experience thanks to better NVH levels.

3. Larger Touchscreen Infotainment System

The current Brezza offers a 9-inch touchscreen in its top variant and a smaller 7-inch unit in the mid variants. While this setup remains competitive, it is no longer segment-leading. Recent spy shots have shown test mules of the Brezza equipped with a larger screen, possibly a 10.25-inch unit. A larger display would strengthen showroom appeal, particularly against feature-rich rivals. It could also give Maruti Suzuki the opportunity to offer wireless Android Auto and Apple Car Play, which are features missing in the current model.

4. Underbody CNG Tank

The current Brezza CNG sacrifices usable boot space due to the placement of the cylinder. If Maruti adopts their newer underbody CNG layout, which debuted on the Victoris, it could significantly improve the Brezza CNG’s practicality. Given the strong demand for CNG SUVs, this change alone could meaningfully increase Brezza’s CNG sales share.

5. Smaller Turbo Petrol Engine Option

While speculative, Maruti Suzuki could consider introducing a smaller turbo-petrol engine option in the Brezza facelift alongside the existing 1.5L normal petrol engine. Under the sub-4 metre taxation structure, petrol engines up to 1.2L attract lower excise duty compared to larger displacement units. Recent GST revisions have widened the effective pricing gap between models equipped with smaller engines and those using bigger-capacity petrol motors, which has made the Brezza relatively more expensive against some rivals.

Introducing a 1.2L turbo-petrol engine based on the Swift’s 3-cylinder engine could help Maruti offset the cost impact of added features in the facelift while maintaining competitive prices. Beyond taxation benefits, a smaller turbocharged engine could also deliver stronger mid-range torque, improving overtaking performance and overall drivability compared to a naturally aspirated setup.

That said, Maruti Suzuki have historically prioritised fuel efficiency, long-term reliability and cost optimisation over outright performance. For that reason, it remains a lower-confidence expectation at this stage.

Minor Feature Reshuffle Across Variants

Apart from the new features listed above, we also expect a variant-wise feature realignment. Currently, practical features such as a front armrest are restricted to the top ZXI Plus variant, while mid variants prioritise cosmetic additions like alloy wheels and a sunroof. A better balance of comfort and convenience features in lower trims could significantly improve value for money.
