Hyundai recently launched the Alcazar at a starting price of 16.30 lakh. It is offered in six variants: Prestige, Prestige(O), Platinum, Platinum(O), Signature and Signature(O), in both 6-and 7-seater configurations.

Now, as per the RTO document, Hyundai has also homologated some other variants of the Alcazar including Prestige (O) 6-seater diesel auto, Platinum (O) 7-seater diesel auto, Prestige (O) 7-seater petrol auto and Platinum (O) 7-seater petrol auto, suggesting new variants might be added to the lineup soon. In terms of pricing, expect the 7-seater variants to be priced at Rs 15,000 less than the corresponding 6-seater variants and vice versa.

Under the hood, the Alcazar is offered with a 1.5-litre diesel engine (115PS/250Nm) and a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine (159PS/191Nm). Both the engines are mated to a 6-speed MT and a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The Alcazar is loaded on the features front as well. It gets auto LED headlamps, a panoramic sunroof, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 360-degree camera, auto-dimming IRVM, connected car tech, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless mobile charging, a Bose sound system, 64-colour ambient lighting, air purifier, 8-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, cruise control, up to 6 airbags, electronic stability control, hill launch assist, front and rear parking sensors, electronic parking brake, blind-spot monitor and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
Prices of the Alcazar range from Rs 16.30 lakh to Rs 20.14 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It rivals the likes of the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and the Mahindra XUV500.
