Kia India have filed a trademark for the EV6 in the Indian market. If Kia India launches the EV6, it will rival the Hyundai Ioniq 5, which is set to be launched later this year. We expect Kia to offer the EV6 in India via the CBU route. The Kia EV6 shares its underpinnings with the Ioniq 5 and both these models have witnessed steady sales in global markets.

The EV6 is the first electric car from Kia to be based on their new dedicated EV platform. While it shares its e-GMP (Global Modular Platform) with the Ioniq 5, there are no similarities on the design front. The EV6 gets a smooth flowing design and a hunkered-down stance, as opposed to the Ioniq 5’s hatchback-like silhouette. Talking about its dimensions, the EV6 measures 4,680mm in length, 1,880mm in width, 1,550mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,900mm.

The Kia EV6 Long Range gets a 77.4kWh battery pack with a rear-wheel-drive drivetrain. Other models get different ranges with a 4-wheel-drive option as well. Kia EV6 Long Range offers a range of 527km on a single charge. Additionally, it can be changed from 10-80% in just 18 minutes with a DC fast charger. Its rear-mounted electric motor dishes out 229PS whereas the 4-wheel-drive model produces 325PS of power.

On the inside, the EV6 offers features like a 12-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 12-inch digital instrument cluster, head-up display, 14-speaker Meridian sound system, lane follow assist, and auto emergency braking. Thanks to the scalable electric platform, the space management on the Kia EV6 is impressive, with loads of practical spaces inside the cabin.
