The Mahindra XUV700 is set to receive its mid-lifecycle update in early 2026. Spy shots of the upcoming model hint at subtle changes to the exterior and a thoroughly refreshed cabin with tech features borrowed from the XEV 9e. Mahindra have registered the name ‘XUV 7XO’, indicating that the upcoming XUV700 facelift could debut with a fresh identity, similar to how the XUV300 facelift was renamed XUV 3XO last year.

While Mahindra haven’t officially confirmed the rebranding, the timing, trend, and available spy shots make a strong case. Here’s everything we know so far:
Mahindra’s naming strategy has evolved rapidly through the years. Alongside legacy nameplates such as the Bolero, Scorpio and Thar, the brand now follows a more structured alphanumeric pattern for its monocoque SUVs:
After the XUV300 became the XUV 3XO, it was widely expected that future facelifts would follow the same template. The latest trademark – XUV 7XO – fits perfectly into this new nomenclature.

Spy shots of the XUV700 facelift have revealed a number of cosmetic updates. While the overall silhouette and most of the sheet metal seem unchanged, the XUV 7XO will offer key changes including:
On the inside, the XUV 7XO is expected to make a big leap in terms of the tech features. Spy shots confirm a new triple-screen dashboard layout, similar to the one seen in the XEV 9e and the upcoming XEV 9S. The triple-screen layout will comprise a fully digital instrument cluster, a central touchscreen infotainment unit and a dedicated passenger display.
Coincidentally, the new Tata Sierra, which is set to launch on November 25, offers a triple-screen layout too. Check out the new Sierra’s top feature highlights by clicking on the link below:

The XUV 7XO could also offer new features such as:
Expect the following features to be carried over from the current model:
The XUV 7XO will likely carry forward the same ADAS and safety tech that already gives the XUV700 a strong advantage in the segment:
Under the bonnet, the XUV 7XO is expected to retain its current petrol and diesel engine options:
Both engines will continue to be paired with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed torque converter (TC) automatic transmission. The diesel-AT variant is expected to retain the optional all-wheel drive (AWD) setup as well.
The XUV 7XO is expected to debut in early 2026. Once launched, the XUV 7XO will continue to rival the Tata Harrier and Safari, Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector and Hector Plus as well as its own sibling, the Scorpio N.
Meanwhile, Mahindra will also reveal the XEV 9S, the electric counterpart of the XUV700, on November 27. You can read more about its expected features, battery pack and performance, and other details by clicking the link below:
