2025 Tata Sierra: Top Highlights Of Tata’s New Lifestyle SUV | V3Cars

Tata Motors have officially unveiled the production-spec 2025 Sierra and are set to announce its variant-wise prices on November 25, 2025. The revival of the iconic nameplate has also brought with it several new features for a Tata vehicle. The new Sierra packs premium cabin tech as well as a brand-new turbo petrol engine.

2025 Tata Sierra Top Highlights

In this article, we take a look at the top highlights of the 2025 Sierra, which is expected to compete with best-selling C-SUVs such as the Hyundai Creta and the Maruti Grand Vitara and Victoris.

1. First Tata Car With New 1.5L Turbo Petrol

The 2025 Sierra will launch with Tata’s new 1.5L turbo petrol engine, which was first showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo. This marks the beginning of a new petrol era for Tata, who previously relied primarily on their 1.2L turbo petrol and 1.2L normal petrol for cars such as the Nexon, Curvv, and Punch.

The new turbo petrol engine produces 170PS of power and 280Nm of torque and will be offered with a 6-speed manual and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT). This engine will soon find its way under the bonnet of the Harrier and Safari as well.

2. First Tata Car With A Triple Screen Dashboard

The new Sierra debuts Tata’s most advanced cabin to date. It offers a triple-screen dashboard layout that features a fully digital driver’s display, a central touchscreen infotainment system and a dedicated screen for the front passenger. We expect the infotainment system to offer wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

3. First Tata Car With Integrated Sound Bar In Dashboard

The top variants of the Sierra will offer a 12-speaker JBL sound system with Dolby Atmos. While that sounds impressive in itself, Tata Motors have cleverly found a way to integrate a sound bar into the dashboard. This setup aims to deliver a wider, more immersive soundstage, comparable to premium home audio systems.

4. First Tata Car With Secondary Tail Lamps Behind The Tailgate

The new Sierra is the first Tata car to offer secondary taillights that activate when the powered tailgate is open. The secondary lights ensure visibility for oncoming traffic when the car is parked with the boot open. This is a feature that has trickled down from more expensive SUVs such as the Audi Q7.

5. First Tata Car With Adjustable Under-Thigh Support

The new Sierra is the first Tata model to offer manually extendable under-thigh support for the front seats. While the Citroen Basalt was the first car in the C-segment to offer extendable under-thigh supports for the rear seats, the new Sierra is the first-ever in the segment to extend this level of adjustability for the driver and front passenger.

6. First Tata Car With Extendable Sun Visors

The front seat base isn’t the only thing that can be extended to improve comfort. Even the sun visors in the 2025 Sierra  have extendable portions that help block out the sun more effectively, especially for shorter drivers and passengers.

7. First-In-Segment To Offer 19-inch Alloy Wheels

The top variants of the Sierra will offer 19-inch alloy wheels with aero inserts. Currently, no other car in the C-SUV segment offers 19-inch alloy wheels.

8. Largest-In-Segment Panoramic Sunroof

While most C-SUVs these days offer a panoramic sunroof in their top variants, the Sierra has them beat with the largest-in-segment sunroof. The panoramic sunroof in the 2025 Sierra extends beyond the second row seats.

Honourable Mentions

These features have appeared on other Tata models earlier, but the Sierra combines them in its own flagship package:

Electronic Tailgate: First seen on some updated Tata SUVs, the Sierra continues the convenience trend with a powered tailgate.

Ventilated Front Seats: A must-have in Indian conditions, already offered on Nexon, Curvv, Harrier and Safari.

Level-2 ADAS Safety Suite: Features like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and auto emergency braking enhance long-distance comfort.

Dual-Zone Climate Control: Available on newer Tata models, but feels more premium inside the Sierra’s wide cabin.

Rear AC Vents: Standard fare, but essential for cabin comfort.

360-Degree Camera With Blind Spot View: Shared with other Tata SUVs but extremely useful given the Sierra’s tall, boxy structure.
