Skoda Slavia, Kushaq To Be Updated More Frequently Than The Rapid | V3Cars

In our recent interaction with Skoda India’s director, Mr. Zac Hollis, we got to learn that both the Kushaq and Slavia will be updated more frequently than what we have seen with the Rapid. We can expect Monte Carlo editions of both the Kushaq and Slavia in the near future — carrying the trend of the Rapid.

Upon being asked about the model year lifecycle of products, Mr. Zac Hollis replied, “ I mean there are two things to happen in the auto industry. Firstly you get model year changes — every year for a model year, there will be changes. And they tend to be technology updates, new colours, bits and pieces like that. But generally speaking, the exterior styling doesn’t change with model year updates. And then come what we call facelifts. A facelift is where for example you mentioned Rapid, which had a facelift that was very effective in the marketplace, we changed the appearance of the car. And facelift is not a huge investment and tends to be bonnet, bumpers, sometimes you even leave the wings alone, so that’s not a huge investment but it works. It keeps the car fresh and we will deliver facelifts throughout the lifecycle of the Slavia and Kushaq too.”

As stated by Mr. Zac Hollis, both the Kushaq and Slavia will get small changes every year in form of model year updates. Only after 2-3 years, we will get the facelifts of the Kushaq and Slavia — with minor sheet metal changes and updated styling. We expect both the Kushaq and Slavia to be sold for over 10 years before getting a generation change. Just recently, Skoda India revealed that the Slavia has garnered over 10,000 bookings within one month from launch.
