MG India are likely to showcase the Air EV hatchback at the Auto Expo 2023. Let’s discuss the details like expected dimensions and engine specs, expected launch timeline, rivals and expected price of the MG Air EV.
Most Notable Features Of MG Air EV
The Air EV, with its compact dimensions, limited range and several smart features, is the perfect city car. It is only 2974mm long and has a wheelbase of 2010mm. In comparison, the Air EV is smaller than even the Alto 800, which is 3445mm long. Chinese carmaker Wuling currently offer the Air EV in Indonesia. MG are testing the Air EV on public roads in India. Given the Air EV’s super compact dimensions, it could become the perfect solution for daily commuting through heavy traffic on Indian roads.
MG are likely to load the car with several upmarket features such as:
- 10.25-inch infotainment system
- Connected car tech
- Rear parking camera and sensor
- Keyless entry
- ISOFIX child seat mounts
- Steering-mounted controls

MG Air EV Expected Specs
MG are testing the car on Indian roads and haven’t yet revealed the Air EV’s specifications. However, we expect the carmaker to include most of the specifications from the Indonesian model.

The MG Air EV will compete with entry-level EVs like the Tata Tiago EV and Tata Tigor EV.

MG Air EV Launch Timeline
The MG Air was spotted several times testing on Indian roads. Based on this, we expect MG to showcase it at the Auto Expo 2023 and launch the car either at the expo or soon after.
MG Air EV Expected Price
The price is something that would be a make or break factor for this micro-hatchback. Since no carmaker has launched a car of this size in India since the Tata Nano, the way MG price the car will influence several potential car buyers. MG are likely to position the car as a premium city car for people who already have a bigger car. For such car buyers, an Rs. 8.0 lakh to Rs. 10.0 lakh (ex-showroom) price is reasonable for a micro hatchback.
