The Hector facelift features a redesigned front and rear profile, with little to no changes on the side. At the front, the new Hector facelift gets a larger chrome grille with a diamond mesh pattern. The borders of the grille get a gloss black finish. While the design of the LED DRLs remain untouched, the new Hector facelift offers redesigned LED headlights and fog lights. The lower bumper also gets a redesign with a new skid plate.

The Hector facelift’s side profile does not feature any massive changes. Surprisingly, it continues with the same design for the 18-inch alloy wheels as the current Hector. The Hector facelift seen in the leaked images continues to offer side body cladding and chrome garnish on the window line and door ends. At the rear, the Hector facelift offers tweaked LED headlights with a connected LED light bar in the middle. The rear bumper also gets a revised design along with twin faux exhaust tips.

2023 MG Hector Facelift — Interior

A few weeks ago, MG released images of the Hector facelift’s interior, revealing various details. The images showcased the Hector facelift’s new multi-layer dashboard that uses a generous amount of soft-touch leatherette materials. The 14-inch vertically-positioned touchscreen infotainment is the highlight in the cabin, and it may also feature a physical volume knob with a host of other features. MG have confirmed that the new infotainment system will feature wireless functionality for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

MG also revealed that the new Hector will feature a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster. Other changes on the inside include configurable ambient lighting, new engine start/stop button, redesigned power window controls and a shutter for the cup holders on the centre console. We also caught a glimpse of an aircraft-inspired gear shifter in the new Hector facelift’s interior images.

2023 MG Hector Facelift — Powertrain

In terms of engine options, the new Hector is likely to come with the same 1.5L turbo petrol and 2.0L turbo diesel powertrains as the current model. The 1.5L turbo petrol is likely to retain its manual, manual-hybrid and CVT-automatic options. Currently, the MG Hector with the 2.0L diesel engine only gets a 6-speed manual transmission. We do not expect MG to offer the Hector facelift with a diesel-automatic option any time soon.  However, it’s rivals, such as the Tata Harrier and Jeep Compass, offer the choice of a diesel-automatic powertrain.
