Most Notable Features Of Next-Gen MG ZS EV
The most notable feature of the upcoming next-gen ZS EV is its all-electric skateboard platform. While the current ZS EV sits on an ICE-derived platform, the new-gen model is likely to share its underpinnings with the MG4 hatchback, which is based on MG’s new dedicated EV platform.

Next-Gen MG ZS EV Expected Specs
The specifications of the ZS EV are not known at the moment. However, since it will share its platform and powertrains with the MG4, it may offer the same range and performance as the hatchback. The MG4 comes with 2 battery options — 51kWh and 64kWh. In terms of performance, the MG4 Trophy Edition offers 203PS of power and 250Nm of torque. We expect the ZS EV to offer similar performance along with the option of all-wheel-drive.
Next-Gen MG ZS EV Rivals
The MG ZS EV is a C-segment SUV that goes up against the likes of the Tata Nexon EV Max, Mahindra XUV400 and BYD Atto 3. The new-gen model will continue to rival the aforementioned SUVs and may also become the only one in the segment to offer all-wheel-drive.

Next-Gen MG ZS EV Launch Timeline
The next-gen ZS EV is likely to make its global debut in 2024 and we expect MG to bring the new ZS electric SUV to India towards the end of 2024. It is worth mentioning that Hyundai also revealed the new-gen Kona range, including the Kona electric, globally. The Kona EV is likely to hit our shores around the same time as the new ZS EV.

MG Next-Gen ZS EV Expected Price
It’s rather early to estimate the price of the new ZS EV given that it’s currently in its development stage. However, we expect the new ZS EV to cost considerably more than the current version, which is on sale in India, thanks to its bigger battery pack and all-new electric platform.. Currently, the MG ZS EV is priced from Rs. 22.58 lakh to Rs. 26.60 lakh (ex-showroom).
