10 Features The 2026 Tata Sierra Gets Over Tata Curvv | V3Cars

With the launch of the new Sierra 2026, Tata Motors now offer 2 SUVs that rival best-sellers such as the Hyundai Creta and Maruti Grand Vitara. While the Sierra cashes in on nostalgia with its boxy silhouette and faux Alpine rear windows, the Curvv adopts a SUV coupe style.

10 Features 2026 Tata Sierra Gets Over Tata Curvv

In this article, we take a look at 10 features the new Tata Sierra offers over the Curvv.

1. Larger Turbo Petrol Engine Option

Tata Sierra Petrol Engine

While the Tata Curvv is offered with two 1.2L turbo petrol engine options, the Sierra offers a 1.5L normal petrol and a 1.5L turbo petrol engine. Naturally, the 1.5L normal petrol engine produces less power and torque than the Curvv’s 1.2L turbo petrol engines. However, the Sierra’s 1.5L turbo petrol engine offers 35PS more power and 30Nm more torque than the most powerful 1.2L turbo petrol engine offered in the Curvv.

Additionally, the Sierra turbo petrol is offered with a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. While it may not be as fast-shifting as the 7-speed dual-clutch automatic in the Curvv turbo petrol, torque converters are generally considered more reliable because their fluid-based coupling handles heat, crawling traffic, and rough-road conditions far better than a DCT’s complex clutch-and-mechatronics setup. In India’s hot climate, stop-go traffic, and inconsistent maintenance standards, DCTs tend to overheat and wear faster, while torque converters stay durable and trouble-free.

2. Triple-Screen Layout

The Tata Sierra’s top Accomplished Plus variant is offered with a triple-screen layout consisting of three 12.3-inch screens that serve as the digital instrument cluster, central infotainment system and a front passenger entertainment screen. In comparison, the Tata Curvv is offered with twin displays, which consists of a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display and 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system in its top Accomplished Plus A variant.

3. 19-inch Alloy Wheels

The Tata Sierra’s top Accomplished and Accomplished Plus variants are offered with 19-inch alloy wheels whereas the top variants of the Curvv are offered with smaller 18-inch wheels. While larger wheels look stylish and enhances the SUV’s road presence, it does take a toll on the ride quality.

4. 12-Speaker JBL Black Sound System

The top Accomplished and Accomplished Plus variants of the Sierra are offered with a 12-speaker JBL Black sound system with Dolby Atmos for an immersive experience. The Tata Curvv, on the other hand, is offered with an 8-speaker JBL sound system from the Creative variant onwards

5. Manually-Extendable Thigh Support

For additional comfort, especially on log journeys, the Sierra offers manually extendable thigh support for the front seats. This is a thoughtful ergonomic touch missing in the Curvv.

6. Extendable Sun Visor

The Sierra provides extendable sun visors, making it easier to block sunlight coming through the sides. This is a small but genuinely useful feature. The sun visors in the Curvv do not extend.

7. Manual Boss Mode

The Tata Sierra is offered with a manual Boss Mode, which enables the rear left passenger to easily slide the front passenger seat forward to extend legroom. This feature is especially useful for chauffeur-driven Sierra owners.

2. More Advanced ADAS

While both SUVs offer Level-2 ADAS, the Sierra offers 2 additional features – intelligent speed assist with traffic sign and intelligent speed assist with map. These features make the adaptive cruise control feature of the Sierra safer and more convenient.

4. Hidden Rear Wiper
