Tata Motors have launched the much-awaited 2026 Sierra at a starting price of Rs. 11.49 lakh (ex-showroom). While the brand is yet to reveal the full variant-wise prices of the new Sierra, we expect the top variant to cost as much as Rs. 20 lakh.

In this article, we compare the 2026 Sierra’s diesel engine specs with that of its rivals such as the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.

The new Sierra uses the same 1.5L diesel engine that powers the Nexon and Curvv. In terms of rivals, the Sierra diesel takes on the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. The Hyundai and Kia SUVs share the same 1.5L diesel engine and transmission options.

The new Sierra diesel offers 2PS more power and 10Nm more torque than the Creta and Seltos diesel. All 3 SUVs produce their peak power and torque at identical rpms. Thus, the Sierra should feel faster and more responsive on paper. However, its real-world performance will ultimately depend on whether it is heavier or lighter than the Creta and Seltos, but Tata Motors are yet to reveal the kerb weight of their latest offering.
