Updated Tata Punch Now More Fuel Efficient Than Before | V3Cars

Tata Motors recently updated the Punch with a BS6 phase-2 compliant 1.2L normal petrol engine. The new engine option not only offers better refinement and noise vibration harshness (NVH) levels but also improved fuel efficiency.

While Tata have updated both the petrol manual and petrol automatic powertrains of the Tata Punch, only the petrol manual powertrain delivers improved fuel efficiency. The 1.2L petrol manual powertrain of the Punch now delivers 1.13kmpl more than the older model. The automated manual transmission (AMT), on the other hand, delivers the same 18.82kmpl as before.

With the BS6 phase-2 update, the 1.2L normal petrol engine of the Punch produces slightly more power than the older model. The power and torque outputs of the updated engine stand at 88PS and 115Nm respectively. Furthermore, Tata have also tuned the engine to deliver better low end performance and reduced NVH levels.

Along with the update, Tata Motors recently announced a longer standard warranty for their entire range of cars and SUVs. The Punch is now offered with a 3 year/1 lakh km warranty compared to the earlier 2 year/75,000km standard warranty.
