Tata Motors recently updated the Nexon with BS6 phase-2 compliant engine options. The new engine options not only offer better refinement and noise vibration harshness (NVH) levels but also offer improved fuel efficiency.

While the fuel efficiency of the petrol manual has dipped marginally by 0.24kmpl over the older model, the fuel efficiency figures of the remaining powertrain options have improved. The diesel manual gets the biggest fuel efficiency improvement of 2.03kmpl over the older model. Out of all the powertrains, the diesel AMT variants of the Nexon is the most fuel efficient option, offering a claimed efficiency of 24.07kmpl.

While the power and torque outputs of the engines remain the same as before, Tata have retuned the engines for better performance, refinement and efficiency. The 1.5L turbo diesel engine now offers better low-end performance while also delivering improved fuel efficiency. Furthermore, the 1.2L turbo petrol engine is also said to offer better responsiveness and reduced NVH levels.

Along with the update, Tata Motors recently announced a longer standard warranty for their entire range of cars and SUVs. The Nexon is now offered with a 3 year/1 lakh km warranty compared to the earlier 2 year/75,000km standard warranty.
