1. 2026 Hyundai Venue
First introduced in 2019 and updated in 2022, the Hyundai Venue is set to receive a generation update in 2026. The 2nd generation Venue was spied testing in the country recently, revealing some of the design changes.
Based on the spy shots, we can confirm the Venue 2026 will feature connected LED DRLs and quad LED headlamps like its bigger sibling, the Creta. The Venue’s front end will also feature L-shaped LED DRLs next to the headlamp pods. The grille features rectangular slats and the lower bumper also features an ADAS module, suggesting the new-gen Hyundai B2-SUV will offer Level-2 ADAS compared to the camera-based system in the current model. The Venue 2026 could also gain all wheel disc brakes from the current Venue N Line to enhance its safety credentials.
In terms of powertrain options, we expect Hyundai to retain the current Venue’s 1L, turbo petrol, 1.2L normal petrol and 1.5L diesel engine options. It remains to be seen if Hyundai offer a diesel-automatic option with the new Venue 2026.
2. 2026 Venue N Line
Like the Venue, the sportier Venue N Line will also receive a generation change in 2026. We expect the 2nd gen Venue N Line to feature the same updated design as the Venue 2026, albeit with sporty elements and dual-tone roof options. The 2026 Venue N Line, too, is expected to offer Level-2 ADAS and retain safety features such as all wheel disc brakes and 6 airbags as standard. We expect the Venue N Line 2026 to feature the same 1L turbo petrol engine with the option of a 7-speed DCT automatic or 6-speed manual transmission as the current model.
3. 2026 Hyundai Verna Facelift
Launched in March 2023, the Hyundai Verna sedan is expected to receive a mid-life refresh in 2026. We expect Hyundai to give their sedan subtle design changes while maintaining the sleek silhouette of the current model. The Verna facelift is also expected to retain the current set of engines, which include a 1.5L normal petrol, 1.5L turbo petrol and 1.5L diesel.
4. 2026 Exter Facelift
Launched in July 2023, the Exter small SUV is expected to get its mid-life refresh in 2026. Expect a minor design refresh with new elements like connected LED DRLs, connected LED taillamps as well an updated interior with a larger touchscreen infotainment system. We expect the Exter facelit to retain features such as the digital instrument cluster, multi-function steering wheel and single-pane sunroof. In terms of powertrain options, the Exter facelift is expected to offer the same 1.2L normal petrol with 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT options as well as the 1.2L CNG with 5-speed manual as the current model.
5. 2026 Ioniq 5 Facelift
Hyundai’s next EV in India is expected to be the Ioniq 5 facelift. While Hyundai are currently offering the Ioniq 5 facelift in various international markets, they are yet to showcase it in India. The carmaker only had the current model on display at the Auto Expo 2025. In terms of updates, the Ioniq 5 facelift offers a larger 84kWh battery pack over the current model’s 72.6kWh battery pack. Hence, expect its ARAI-certified range, which is 631km for the current model, to rise as well.
6. 2026 Ioniq 6
After the launch of the Ioniq 5, Hyundai could introduce the Ioniq 6 electric sedan in India. Featuring a 77.4kWh battery pack, the Ioniq 6 RWD variant offers a claimed range of 614km. It offers 228PS of power and 350Nm of torque. We expect the Ioiq 6 to cost around Rs. 65 lakh (ex-showroom) in India.
7. 2027 Inster EV or Exter EV
Hyundai are likely to kickstart 2027 with an affordable EV. We expect the upcoming Hyundai EV to be either the Inster EV, which is sold in various international markets, or the Exter EV with components borrowed from the former.
Hyundai unveiled the Inster EV in 2024 with 2 battery pack options – 42kWh and 49kWh. Lower variants of the Inster EV produce 97PS of power and 147Nm of torque and offer a claimed range of 542km, while the higher variants, which produce 115PS and 147Nm, offer a claimed range of 617km, which is significantly higher than the Tata Punch EV MR’s 315km and Punch EV LR’s 421km ARAI-certified range. 8. 2027 i20
Hyundai update the i20 with a new generation every 6-7 years. Hence, we can expect the 4th generation i20 to launch sometime in 2027. While details regarding the next-gen i20 are scarce at the moment, we expect it to feature the same powertrain options as the current model, which include a 1.2L normal petrol with a 5-speed manual and 1.2L normal petrol with CVT automatic transmission. Expect an all-new design and modern features, including a panoramic sunroof, in the upcoming model.
9. 2027 i20 N Line
Like the 2026 Venue and Venue N Line, expect the 2027 i20 N Line to feature the same design as standard i20 hatchback with some additional sporty elements. The 2027 i20 N Line is expected to offer the same 1L turbo petrol engine as the current model, albeit with slight tweaks. Transmission options could include the 6-speed manual and 7-speed DCT automatic from the current model.
10. 2027 Grand i10 Nios
Similar to the i20, Hyundai have consistently updated the i10 B1-hatchback every 7-8 years. Hence, we can expect the next-generation i10 to launch sometime in 2027. Expect an all-new design, added features and the potential inclusion of ADAS for the new-gen hatchback. However, we do not expect any changes in the powertrain department. So the next-gen i10 is likely to be offered with the same 1.2L normal petrol engine and 1.2L CNG option as the current model.
11. 2027 Creta
Considering the current generation Creta was launched in 2020, we expect the all-new, 3rd generation Creta SUV to launch in 2027. While details regarding the next-generation Creta are scarce at the moment, we expect a significant evolution in the Creta’s design, moving towards a more aggressive and futuristic aesthetic. Hyundai's global design language, seen in models like the Palisade and Santa Fe, could heavily influence the new Creta.
We could also expect the next-gen Creta to make a big leap in terms of features and technology. Expect larger, integrated dual screens for the infotainment system, an upgrade in material quality, improved upholstery options, and refined trim elements in the new model. In terms of powertrain options, Hyundai are likely to equip the 4th gen Creta with the same 1.5L normal petrol, 1.5L turbo petrol and 1.5L diesel engine options as the current model. Hyundai have also confirmed plans for hybrids for India, but more on that below.
12. 2027 Creta N Line
Similar to the Venue and i20, the next-gen Creta will also get the N-Line treatment. Expect it to offer sporty bits like the current model along with more potent turbo petrol engine options.
13. 2027 Creta Hybrid
As the demand for fuel-efficient and environmentally conscious vehicles grows rapidly in India, a strong hybrid version of the Creta would allow Hyundai to directly compete with popular hybrid SUVs like the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyryder.
The Hyundai Creta Hybrid is likely to feature a strong hybrid system. This means it will combine a petrol engine with an electric motor and a battery pack, allowing the car to run on electric power alone for short distances, on a mix of electric and petrol, or solely on petrol. Although powertrain details are scarce at the moment, we expect Hyundai either modify the existing 1.5L petrol engine for hybrid applications or develop an all-new 1.5L petrol-hybrid engine from scratch. Expect the Creta Hybrid to deliver significantly higher mileage than its petrol-only counterparts, likely in the range of 20-25kmpl or even more, which could make it a very economical choice for daily commutes.
14. 2028 Staria MPV
Hyundai are expected to launch the Staria MPV in 2028. When launched, it will compete with the Kia Carnival in India. Hyundai showcased the Staria MPV at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo. The Hyundai MPV boasts a futuristic design characterised by a full-width LED DRL strip, a large grille, and pixelated headlights integrated into the bumper. Large glass areas and sliding rear doors enhance practicality and visibility. The rear features distinctive vertically stacked taillights. The Staria MPV rides on 18-inch alloy wheels.
Globally, the Staria offers various powertrain options, including a 2.2L diesel engine, a 3.5L V6 normal petrol and a 1.6L petrol hybrid engine. Know more about the Hyundai Staria by tapping the link below.

15. 2028 Ni 1i Hybrid 7-Seater SUV
Hyundai are gearing up to introduce a 7-seater hybrid SUV in India in 2028. It is currently known by its internal codename 'Ni1i'. The 'Ni1i' is an all-new 7-seater SUV from Hyundai, designed to bridge the gap between the popular Alcazar and the premium Tucson in Hyundai’s Indian lineup. It’s expected to be a spacious 3-row offering, focusing on families and those who need more passenger capacity and fuel efficiency. This SUV will be Hyundai's first model in India to feature a strong petrol-hybrid powertrain.
16. 2028 Ni 1i EV
The 2028 Ni 1i hybrid SUV will also spawn an all-electric version, which we expect to go on sale in the second half of 2028. We expect this electric SUV to sit above the Creta Electric and cost around Rs. 50 lakh (ex-showroom). Details regarding the electric powertrain for the Ni 1i EV are scarce at the moment.
17. 2028 Creta Electric
The 2028 Creta Electric will be the next iteration of Hyundai’s mid-size electric SUV. It is expected to be a full generational leap instead of a mid-cycle refresh with major technological upgrades, aiming to set new benchmarks in its segment for range, features, and overall performance.
Expect a comprehensive evolution across all aspects of the vehicle, including possibly a dedicated EV (localised e-GMP platform?) as this would allow for better battery packaging, more interior space, and enhanced driving dynamics. We can also expect a higher capacity battery, potentially in the 60-70kWh range or even more, to offer a substantial driving range. A real-world range of 450-550km could help the next-generation Creta compete with Mahindra BE 6 as well.
18. 2028 Aura
Hyundai’s entry-level sedan is expected to get a generational update in 2028. Like the current model, the 2028 Aura will be based on the i10 and offer the same powertrain options as the hatchback. When launched, it will continue to rival the Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Honda Amaze.
19. 2029 Venue Facelift
We expect Hyundai to launch the updated version of the 2026 Venue in 2029.
20. 2029 Venue N Line Facelift
Similarly, we expect the 2026 Venue N Line to get a facelift in 2029.
21. 2029 Ioniq 9
The Hyundai Ioniq 9 is a full-size, 3-row electric SUV. It’s designed to be a spacious and technologically advanced family vehicle, built on Hyundai’s dedicated Electric Global Modular Platform (e-GMP), which also underpins the Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6. It will be the largest and most luxurious EV in Hyundai’s Ioniq lineup.
The Ioniq 9 would allow Hyundai to compete in the high-end electric SUV segment, showcasing their advanced EV capabilities. The Ioniq 9 was showcased at the 2025 Auto Expo and you can learn more about it by visiting the link below:

22. 2029 Palisade
The Hyundai Palisade is the brand’s largest and most luxurious SUV globally. While Hyundai are yet to officially confirm its launch in India, the Palisade could aim to redefine the premium SUV segment in India.
The Palisade is known for its imposing road presence, spacious 3-row seating, and a long list of premium features. It’s designed to offer a comfortable and luxurious experience for large families or those seeking a commanding vehicle. We expect Hyundai to offer the Palisade with a 2.2L diesel engine. This engine produces around 200PS of power and 441Nm of torque.
23. 2030 i20 Facelift
We expect Hyundai to launch the updated version of the 2026 i20 in 2030.
24. 2030 i20 N Line Facelift
Similarly, we expect the 2026 i20 N Line to get a facelift in 2030.
25. 2030 Creta Facelift
We expect Hyundai to launch the updated version of the 4th gen Creta SUV in 2030.
26. 2030 Creta Hybrid Facelift
