Hyundai has launched the Grand i10 Nios in India with introductory prices starting from Rs 5 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The Nios is the new generation of the Grand i10 and it will coexist with the older model in India.

In terms of its size, the Nios is longer and wider than the Grand i10, but not by a big margin. Its wheelbase is also 25mm longer than the Grand i10, hinting that the Nios might be more spacious than its predecessor.
Grand i10 Nios
The Nios is available with BS6 petrol engine and BS4 diesel engine option, and both the engines can be had with either a manual transmission or an AMT. The 1.2-litre petrol engine develops 83PS of maximum power and is available with a 5-speed manual transmission and an AMT. The diesel engine is also a 1.2-litre unit developing 75PS of maximum power. Transmission options for both the engines are the same. The Nios is the second car in Hyundai’s portfolio that comes with an AMT. Certified fuel efficiency for the Grand i10 is as follows:

The Nios is available in six monotone exterior colours: white, silver, grey, red, blue and teal. There are two dual-tone exterior colour options as well: Teal body colour and black rood & white body colour and black roof. The dual-tone models will be available with black interior with contrast inserts. The monotone Nios will be available with dual-tone grey interior colour combination.
The Nios is the first Hyundai car that comes with variable warranty. The car can be covered for 3 years/1lakh km or 4 years/50,000 km or 5 years/40,000km based on running cost. In India, the Nios competes against the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Swift, Ford Figo and Hyundai Grand i10. Deliveries of the Nios will start soon.
