No More Free Charging With MG Windsor 2025; BaaS Price Updated | V3Cars
We recently learned from an MG car sales representative that besides the price increase JSW MG have also discontinued the 1-year free-charging offer with the purchase of a new Windsor EV. While the ex-showroom prices of the Windsor have gone up, the BaaS price remain the same as before.

To make up for the higher price delta between BaaS and full price of the Windsor, MG have increased the per-KM subscription cost from Rs. 3.50 to Rs. 3.90. This change in subscription cost per KM will fetch about Rs. 76,000 more for MG and their financing partners. Although, this total amount includes the interest over a period of 8 years.
Here’s a look at the BaaS and updated ex-showroom pricing of the Windsor EV along with the revised battery subscription cost applicable from January 2025:

The per-KM subscription cost under the BaaS option remains unchanged in January 2025 for other MG electric cars. The Comet EV’s subscription cost per KM stands at Rs. 2.50 while the ZS EV’s is Rs. 4.50.

It’ll be interesting to see how the higher pricing and withdrawal of the free 1-year public charging offer affects the sales and demand of the Windsor EV going forward. Moreover, we are about to see new entrants in the electric C-SUV spaces from heavy-hitters like Maruti Suzuki (eVitara), Toyota (Urban Cruiser EV), Hyundai (Creta Electric) and Mahindra (BE 6). All of these cars intend to bite into the fresh demand for electric cars initially created by the Windsor’s attractive introductory pricing.
