Best Low Budget Cars With High Ground Clearance Under Rs. 5.0 Lakh

Even on a shoestring budget of less than Rs. 5.0 (ex-showroom), you can buy a car with high ground clearance. Here are 2 cars with a ground of 180mm or more and an ex-showroom price of Rs. 5.0 lakh or less.

Best Low-Budget Cars With High Ground Clearance

1. Renault Kwid - 184mm

The Renualt Kwid is one of the most affordable options on this entire list with a ground clearance of 184mm. The Kwid has 3 powertrain options — a 0.8L normal petrol-manual, 1.0L normal petrol-manual and 1.0L normal petrol-automatic (AMT). However, for less than Rs. 5.0 lakh, you can only buy the lower 2 variants with either the 0.8L or 1.0L normal petrol engine and manual transmission.

It’s not just the ground clearance of this car that impressed us. It’s one of the few cars, which deserves a spot in the higher segment but its price and performance options compel us to keep it in the A-segment.

The Kwid has a large boot, big 14-inch tyres and a tremendous road presence for the asking price.

2. Maruti Suzuki S-Presso - 180mm

The S-Presso is another option for a budget buyer. Its styling is polarising but its efficiency figures impress. Around 25kmpl from a petrol engine was unimaginable until a few years ago.

Just like the Kwid, only the lower 2 variants of the S-Presso cost less than Rs. 5.0 lakh (ex-showroom).
