Renault currently has the following 3 cars on sale in India:
Renault competes in the following X segments:
Renault’s all 3 cars have a petrol engine and none is available with a diesel or electric powertrain. The Duster and Kwid are available with 2 engine options and offer an automatic transmission with their more powerful engines. The Triber is also available with a 5-speed AMT automatic transmission paired to its 1.0-litre normal petrol engine. Renault currently has 450 dealerships and 350 service centres spread across the country.
Despite offering better style and more features for a lower price, the Kwid is having a hard time beating the Alto. However, compared to a micro crossover like the S-Presso, the Kwid is selling in decent numbers. The Triber, however, has managed to carve out a niche for itself with its lucrative ex-showroom price tag, decent styling (for an MPV) and versatile seating options. Its engine is its weakest link and it’s likey to soon get a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine to satisfactorily accelerate with a full load of 7 occupants.
