Tata Motors have released a new video showcasing the exterior design of the upcoming Sierra EV ahead of its official debut on June 30, 2026. The latest teaser offers the clearest look yet at the electric SUV, confirming that Tata have retained the iconic Sierra styling while incorporating the brand's familiar EV-specific design elements.

It’s official: Tata Sierra EV 2026 will get 4WD with dual-motor variants. Tata Motors have recently posted a teaser video of the Sierra EV highlighting its rear wheel throwing some sand around in the dunes. If this wasn’t enough, they spelled it out too in the very next shot of the teaser. The information in the video reads: Sierra.ev; with QWD with Dual Motor. Quad wheel drive, in Tata’s lingo means 4WD with 2 motors — one on each axle to drive the respective wheels.

April 2026 saw a steady stream of launches across segments, and May is shaping up to carry that momentum forward with a mix of facelifts, EVs and premium SUVs. We recently reported about the Tata Sierra EV that the car’s photos, which surfaced online, may not be of the production version. Since the car doesn’t seem to have a DC fast charging port it is not visible anywhere on the car. Although the location of the AC Type-2 charging port is visible.

The recently-surfaced production-ready photos of the Sierra EV may not actually be of a production-ready version after all. As you can see in the pictures, the car gets a small charging port flap in the left rear quarter panel. This isn’t large enough to allow you to plug a full-size CCS-2 gun. In fact, in an old promo video, it hides the smaller Type-2 AC socket for charging.

Images of the production-ready version of the 2025 Tata Sierra EV have recently surfaced online and it confirms what we predicted back in June 2024. Currently, even the most expensive Tata SUV, the Safari, only offers 2 parking sensors on the front and 2 around the back. These new images confirm that Tata are now convinced that a car as wide as the Harrier and Safari probably deserves more than 2 parking sensors to fully cover their blind spots.
