The Volvo S90 premium sedan is no longer available for sale in India. Volvo India has removed the S90 from its official price list, signaling that the luxury sedan is now discontinued in the country. This move means that Volvo’s current lineup in India now consists entirely of SUVs, marking a clear strategic shift for the brand.

Volvo India recorded a 40% growth in sales by selling 1,751 units in the January-September 2023 period. The XC60 played a primary role in the sales growth by contributing 35% in the overall sales while the locally assembled XC40 Recharge EV accounted for 24% with 419 units sold in this period.

Volvo India have commenced deliveries of the locally-assembled XC40 Recharge. The first unit of the XC40 Recharge was recently delivered to a customer in Gujarat and the Swedish carmaker plans to deliver 100 XC40 Recharge electric SUVs by the end of 2022.

Volvo Cars India have commenced local production of the XC40 Recharge electric SUV. The first unit of the XC40 Recharge rolled out of Volvo’s Hoskote manufacturing facility near Bangalore, Karnataka. The XC40 Recharge will be joined by the C40 Recharge next year.
