Maruti Suzuki are likely to showcase the new-gen Swift at the Auto Expo 2023. Let’s take a look at the 2023 Swift’s expected dimensions and engine specifications, launch timeline and rivals. We’ll also share our estimated price for the new-gen Swift hatchback.

Most Notable Features Of Maruti Suzuki New-gen Swift

The new-gen Swift is likely to come with a strong hybrid powertrain alongside the regular petrol engine. The strong hybrid petrol engine in the new Swift is likely to be a size smaller than that in the Grand Vitara SUV. A couple of rumours even suggest that its fuel efficiency could be close to 35kmpl. For reference, the heavier Grand Vitara offers a claimed fuel efficiency of 27.97kmpl with its 2.0L strong hybrid petrol engine.

Maruti Suzuki New-gen Swift Expected Specs

The specifications of the new-gen Swift are yet to come out. Like we stated earlier, it could pack a strong hybrid powertrain with an impressive fuel efficiency figure. Alongside the strong hybrid petrol engine, Maruti may continue to offer the Swift with the current 1.2L K12 normal petrol engine. The K12 engine produces 90PS of power and 113Nm of torque. It gets 2 transmission options – 5-speed manual and a 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT).

Maruti Suzuki New-gen Swift Rivals

The Swift is a B1-segment hatchback and the new-gen model is likely to feature similar dimensions. The new-gen Swift will continue to rival other hatchbacks in its class like the Maruti Suzuki Ignis, Tata Tiago and Hyundai Grand-i10 Nios.

Maruti Suzuki New-gen Swift Launch Timeline

We expect Maruti Suzuki to showcase the new-gen Swift at the 2023 Auto Expo in concept or pre-production form. The current-gen Swift was launched in India back in 2018 and it received a facelift and a new engine in 2021. Following the conventional life cycle of a product, the Swift should receive a generation change towards the end of 2023. Hence, we can expect Maruti Suzuki to at least showcase the concept version of the new-gen Swift at the auto show, given that the Auto Expo is making a comeback after a hiatus of 3 years.

Maruti Suzuki New-gen Swift Expected Price

It’s way too early to talk about the expected prices of the new-gen Swift. If we were to share a rough estimate, the new-gen Swift is likely to be priced from Rs. 6 lakh to Rs. 10 lakh ex-showroom.
