Honda City Facelift Base Variant Offers These 13 Features Over Skoda Slavia Base Model | V3Cars

The Honda City and Skoda Slavia are among the most well-rounded sedans in the C-segment, offering spacious cabins, refined petrol engines and strong road presence. While the Slavia stands out for its European driving manners and turbo petrol engine options, the Honda City continues to impress with its well-equipped variants across the lineup.

2026 Honda City Base Vs Slavia Base: 13 Extra Features Explained

In this article, we take a look at 13 features the Honda City SV base variant offers over the Skoda Slavia Classic base model. But first let’s take a look at their prices:

2026 HONDA CITY VS SKODA SLAVIA

BASE MODEL PRICE COMPARISON

Model

City SV

Difference

Slavia Classic

Normal Petrol-MT

Rs. 12 lakh

Rs. 2 lakh

Rs. 10 lakh

  • The Honda City SV base variant costs Rs. 2 lakh more than the Skoda Slavia Classic base model
  • The City base model is offered with a 1.5L normal petrol-manual powertrain whereas the Slavia base variant is only available with a 1L turbo petrol-manual option.
  • The City 1.5L normal petrol engine offers more power than the Slavia’s 1L turbo petrol. However, the Slavia offers more a higher peak torque at lower RPMs.

1. LED Headlamps

One of the biggest advantages of the Honda City SV is the inclusion of LED headlamps. Besides offering a more premium appearance, LED units generally provide better illumination compared to conventional halogen lamps.

The Slavia Classic continues with halogen headlamps, which feel dated for the segment and price point.

2. Fully Automatic Climate Control

Honda offers fully automatic climate control in the City SV, improving cabin comfort and convenience during everyday use.

The Slavia Classic misses out on climate control and instead gets a manual AC setup.

3. 8-Inch Touchscreen Infotainment System

The City SV gets an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.

While the Slavia Classic also offers smartphone connectivity, its smaller 7-inch touchscreen relies on a dongle for wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay functionality. The larger screen size and more integrated experience give the City an advantage here.

5. LED Tail Lamps

Honda offers LED tail lamps in the City SV, which enhance the sedan’s premium appearance from the rear.

The Slavia Classic comes with conventional tail lamps instead.

5. Push Button Start/Stop

The Honda City SV also offers keyless entry with push button start/stop, adding a more premium and modern feel to the ownership experience.

The Slavia Classic uses a conventional key-based ignition setup.

6. Rear Armrest With Cup Holders

The Honda City SV offers a rear armrest with 2 cup holders whereas the Slavia does not offer a rear armrest in the Slavia base variant.

7. Rear Parking Camera

Honda have equipped the City SV with a rear parking camera offering normal, wide and top-down viewing modes, helping drivers manoeuvre more confidently in tight spaces.

The Slavia Classic does not offer a rear camera in the base variant. However, both sedans offer rear parking sensors as standard

8. 4.2-Inch Colour TFT MID

The City SV features a 4.2-inch colour TFT multi-information display in the instrument cluster, offering more detailed and visually appealing driving information.

In comparison, the Slavia Classic gets a smaller 3.5-inch monochrome MID, which feels relatively basic.

9. Auto Folding ORVMs

Honda also offer electrically adjustable and auto-folding outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs) with the City SV, improving convenience while parking in tighter spaces.

The Slavia Classic misses out on the auto-folding function.

10. Rear AC Vents

Rear passengers in the City SV benefit from dedicated rear AC vents, which improve comfort during long journeys and hot weather conditions.

The Slavia Classic does not offer rear AC vents in the base variant.

11. Shark Fin Antenna

The City SV also gets a shark fin antenna, which adds a sportier and more premium touch to the sedan’s exterior styling.

The Slavia Classic uses a more conventional antenna setup.

12. USB Charging Sockets

The 2026 Honda City facelift offers 2 front USB-A sockets and 2 rear USB-C charging sockets for charging. The Skoda Slavia offers this feature only from the Signature variant onwards.

13. Ambient Lighting

The City SV includes ambient lighting in the centre console pocket, which subtly enhances the cabin ambience during night-time driving.

This feature is not available in the Slavia Classic base model.

While the Skoda Slavia Classic offers must-have features expected from a C-segment sedan, the Honda City SV feels more complete at the entry level. Features such as LED headlamps, climate control, rear armrest, rear camera and push button start help the City offer a more premium ownership experience without forcing buyers to move to higher variants.

The Slavia Classic appears more focused on delivering the brand’s core driving and turbo petrol appeal at an aggressive starting price, while several comfort and convenience features are reserved for higher variants. In contrast, the City SV feels less like a stripped-down entry variant and more like a genuinely well-equipped sedan for buyers who want premium features without significantly stretching their budget.
