Ola’s electric scooter is making waves and for good reasons. Now, it’s not mere speculation. The CEO of Ola Electric, Bhavish Aggarwal, confirmed that they’re working on an electric car too. Ola Electric’s CEO, Bhavish Aggarwal, posted a teaser about the February 9, 2023 event from the company. In the teaser, Bhavish asks the viewers to “buckle up” the “seatbelts”, which is a clear hint towards a car. On the same day, they’re also opening the payment window for the more affordable S1 Air electric scooter.

Ola Electric recently revealed their Lithium cell with custom chemistry and it’s currently in testing. It’ll enter mass production by late 2023 — just in time to power their first car, which will launch sometime in 2024. While Ola Electric haven’t officially confirmed this, their cell’s production and their car’s launch timeline tells us that the car will almost certainly use their in-house battery packs.

Ola recently shared their mid-to-long-term plans for EV and electric vehicle production. They plan to make India a major EV-producing country and use their plant as the EV production hub. The company plans to expand the production capacity to make 10 lakh cars, 100GWh of batteries and 1 crore scooters per year.

Ola Electric have laid out their plan for the future, which include 6 electric cars. The 6 upcoming Ola EVs will be built on 2 different electric platforms. Ola’s 1st EV will be the Ola C1 coupe with an expected range of over 500km.

Recently, Ola Electric revealed their plans to step into the 4-wheeler electric vehicle market.
