Is Mahindra Thar good for long drives?

Yes and no. The Mahindra Thar is great for off-roading and it can get you out of a tough spot with ease. So, if you intend to explore scenic places that are hard to get to with a regular 2WD car, then the Thar is your best companion.

However, it’s crude nature, which makes it so good off-road also makes it not so good on the highways. The Thar’s boxy design and limited noise insulation may make it difficult to take on long tours because of excessive road and wind noise.

For city use, the Thar is a great choice as it looks aggressive and the traffic usually gives way to a butch SUV like the Thar. Moreover, it’s not as big as some of the other large SUVs like the Foruner or Endeavour. Its sub-4m length also makes it significantly better at navigating through the city traffic and tight parking spaces.
