In this article, we’ll look at the MG Hector base model and the features of the Hector Style variant.

The Hector is available in 4 variants - Style, Shine, Smart and Sharp. The base model of the MG Hector gets with a 1.5-litre turbo petrol and 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine and a manual transmission. The Hector Style petrol costs Rs. 13.5 lakh while the Style diesel costs Rs. 14.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

Even the base variant of the MG Hector is reasonably loaded and can be considered if you’re on a tight budget. However, we strongly recommend you consider the Shine variant as it offers a lot more features for a reasonable increase in the asking price.

The MG Hector’s base model gets 1.5-litre turbo petrol and 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine options. In the base Style variant, both the engines are only available with a 6-speed manual transmission option only. The Hector petrol makes 143PS of power and 250Nm of torque while its diesel engine makes 170PS of power and 350Nm of torque.

In terms of dimensions, the XUV700 has an upper hand as it’s the longest SUV in this segment. But, the Hector’s dimensions are also respectable. It measures 4655mm long, 1835mm wide and 1760mm tall with a wheelbase of 2750mm. The Hector’s base model has a ground clearance of 192mm and a boot space of 587 litres.
