The Smart Pro variant offers mostly driver-centric features, which will greatly improve the ownership experience for self-driving customers. It also justifies the incremental cost of a little over Rs. 1.0 lakh with the additional features. So, for self-driving, we’ll strongly suggest the Smart Pro variant for most buyers. It’s also the most value for money variant and earns our top recommendation for Hector diesel buyers.

2023 MG Hector Facelift Diesel Smart Pro vs Sharp Pro Variant - Price, Feature Comparison

The Sharp Pro variant costs Rs. 21.51 lakh (ex-showroom) and is Rs. 1.41 lakh pricier than the lower Smart Pro variant.

The Sharp Pro variant offers some more features to improve the ownership experience while offering a decent value for money. So, if you find some of its features important to your ownership experience, then you should consider buying the top model. Otherwise, the Smart Pro will satisfy the needs of most Hector diesel buyers.

Which Variant Of The MG Hector Diesel Should You Buy?

For the Hector diesel, the base variant is suitable for mostly chauffeur-driven customers. This is because the higher Smart Pro variant only costs about Rs. 1.0 lakh more and offers several driver-centric features. It also justifies spending for the additional features with a fantastic value score. So, the Smart Pro is our top recommendation for Hector diesel buyers.

The top-spec Sharp Pro also offers a decent value for money but not enough compelling features to warrant an upgrade. So, buyers who find its features valuable to the ownership experience can consider buying it instead of mid-spec Smart Pro.

What Are The Engine Specifications Of The MG Hector Diesel?

The Hector gets a 2.0L turbo diesel engine, which makes the same power and torque as the Harrier diesel. Its performance is on par with that of the XUV700’s base diesel engine, but the more powerful diesel engine of the XUV700 is in a league of its own with a torque output of up to 450Nm.

In terms of fuel efficiency, the Hector and Harrier claim to deliver about the same mileage. Mahindra haven’t declared the fuel efficiency details of the XUV700 and we believe that they’re nowhere near the segment benchmark of 16kmpl.
