Exclusive: Maruti Suzuki XL6 Brochure Leaked Ahead Of Launch
Maruti Suzuki is set to launch the XL6 in India on 21 August 2019. The XL6 will be a more premium version of the Ertiga and will be sold via the carmaker’s Nexa outlets. It can be booked by paying a sum of Rs 11,000 online or at any of the Nexa dealerships.

Maruti Suzuki has revealed that the XL6 will be available with the 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine only with both manual and automatic transmission options. The engine will meet BS6 emission norms. A scan of the official brochure now reveals the XL6’s specifications, including its claimed fuel efficiency, which is the same as that of the Ertiga.
Dimensions Comparison (XL6 vs Ertiga)
As expected, the XL6 is longer, wider and taller than the Ertiga. It would get roof rails and all-around plastic cladding. Both the Ertiga and XL6 have an identical wheelbase, so mechanically, both the cars are the same. The XL6 will be a six-seat MPV with captain seats in the middle. None of the variants of the XL6 will come with a bench in the second row.
Powertrain Comparison (XL6 vs Ertiga)
Both the XL6 and Ertiga will get the K15B petrol engine with mild-hybrid tech. Both the cars are claimed to deliver the same fuel efficiency.
XL6 Variants and Features
Maruti Suzuki will offer the XL6 in two variants: Zeta and Alpha (top). The XL6’s Zeta variant is based on the Ertiga’s Z variant while the XL6 Alpha is based on the Ertiga Z+.
There will be the option of automatic transmission in both variants of the XL6, but Maruti offers automatic transmission on Ertiga Zxi only, and not on the Zxi+.
The XL6’s Zeta variant gets the following features that are not on offer on the Ertiga Z:
The XL6’s top Alpha variant is based on the Ertiga’s top Z+ variant, but it gets the following features that are not on offer on the Ertiga:

Maruti XL6 Exterior Colour Options
Maruti Suzuki will offer six exterior colour options on the XL6. These are:
- Blue
- Khaki
- Red
- Grey

Apart from Khaki exterior colour, which is not on offer on the Ertiga, Nexa Blue is the other exterior colour on offer on the XL6 and not on the Ertiga. The blue exterior colour in which the Ertiga can be had is the Oxford Blue. The other colours are common between both the cars.
Maruti XL6 Expected Prices
The Maruti Suzuki XL6 will be priced over the Ertiga given that it is the better equipped car of the two. We expect the prices of the XL6 to start from under Rs 10 lakh and go over the Rs 11 lakh mark. Here’s a price comparison between both the cars:
