The XL6’ Zeta variant is based on the Ertiga’s Z variant, while the Alpha variant corresponds to the Ertiga’s Z+. The Ertiga Zxi is priced at Rs 9.10 lakh with the manual transmission and at Rs 10.06 lakh with the automatic. Maruti Suzuki doesn’t offer the automatic transmission in the top Zxi+ variant of the Ertiga. With the manual transmission, this variant is priced at Rs 9.61 lakh (all prices above are ex-showroom, Delhi).
The XL6 looks completely different from the Ertiga as far as its frontal appearance is concerned. It features uniquely styles headlamps that get LEDs and the bumper is also restyled accordingly. The XL6 features all-around plastic cladding that the Ertiga doesn’t. While it does wear alloy wheels that are similar to the Ertiga’s, these are black in colour. The XL6 also gets roof rails, a feature that is missing on the Ertiga.
Related: We feel that the XL6 might be rebadged as a Toyota MPV later. Watch this video to know the 4 reasons why we think so.
The rear of both the cars is relatively similar in terms of appearance, with no design change given to the tail lamps. The rear bumper of both the cars is, however, differently designed.

On the inside, the most noticeable change is the seat layout. While XL6 is a six-seat MPV, the Ertiga is a seven-seater. So the XL6 features captain seats in the middle, while the Ertiga gets a bench. The XL6’ cabin is done in an all-black scheme while the Ertiga comes in dual-tone beige-black interior.

In terms of features, each of XL6’ variants is more equipped than the Ertiga. The additional features that XL6 Zeta gets over Ertiga Z are as follows:

And the features that the XL6 Alpha gets over Ertiga Zxi+ are:

The XL6 is available in six exterior colour options: blue, khaki, red, grey, silver and white. Of these, khaki and blue (Nexa Blue) colours are not there on the Ertiga. The Ertiga’s blue exterior colour is different compared to the XL6’.
As far as its competition is concerned, if you plan to buy an MPV that offers captain seats in the middle, there’s only the Mahindra Marazzo that presents an alternative to the XL6.
