Mercedes-Benz India continues its aggressive new model launch in the country in order to reinforce its leading position in the Indian luxury auto market. Mercedes-Benz is all set to launch the new E-Class All-Terrain in the car market of India by the end of the current month. According to the reports, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class All-Terrain will be hitting the Indian market on 28th of September 2018.
As the name suggests, the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class All-Terrain is the off-road ready version of the classy E-Class Estate and will be empowered by the 4Matic All-wheel drive system along with a host of other added equipments and changes in order to endow the saloon with enough rough road busting capabilities. The E-Class All-Terrain comes endowed with Mercedes-Benz’s Air Body Control air-suspension system that offers it with 15 mm higher ride ability as compared against the coil-spring setup. Mercedes has increased this E-Class version’s ride height even further by another 14 mm with the employment of 245/45-section tyres that wrapped around 19 inch wheels.
Under the hood, the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class All-Terrain will be getting equipped by the same 2 litre turbocharged diesel motor that does the duty on the standard saloon model. The oil burner has the capability to churn out a max power output of 194 PS along with 400 Nm of top torque. The engine has been paired with the Mercedes 4Matic All-wheel drive (AWD) system to offer the vehicle better traction to handle all sorts of terrains and rough roads. Although the Mercedes-Benz E-Class All-Terrain is a massive vehicle with great length, it rides on the same wheelbase as that of the regular E-Class and thus has a shorter wheelbase as compared against the LWB (Long Wheel Base) E-Class version which is currently offered for sale in the Indian car market.
part from the added mechanical updates for the additional off-road capability, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class All-Terrain model also comes with a number of exterior features. These added exterior features not only aid the saloon in its off-road capabilities, but also offers it with a more aggressive and mean look, which marks it apart from the ultra elegant standard E-Class lineup. The added exterior features of the E-Class All-Terrain include black cladding around its wheel arches and bumpers to add to the rugged appeal, while there are scuff plates on all sides of the vehicle to offer protection against kicked up rubbles while treading the broken trails. The overall design language of the E-Class has been obviously retained on the All-Terrain version, but its front fascia gets a more aggressive radiator grille with a perforated design that comes from the GL range. The vehicle’s rear-end flaunts a thick chrome bar on the tailgate, while the stretched out wraparound tail lights design offers the off-road friendly saloon a wider appearance from the rear and offers it a well-proportionate look by offsetting the higher ride height of the vehicle. Thus, while the Mercedes-Benz E-Class All-Terrain comes with a tough off-road beating attitude, it retains the signature style and elegance of the E-Class sedan.
We think all the Mercedes-Benz E-Class loving audience in India will admire this badass All-Terrain version as well.
