HARMAN Deliver Intelligent Visual Experiences Ready For The Road (Press Release) | V3Cars
HARMAN have introduced a portfolio of production-ready display and windshield technologies designed to improve clarity, efficiency and safety inside modern vehicle cockpits. The solutions focus on reducing visual clutter while delivering intelligent, driver-centric information.
Here’s what HARMAN have to say about delivering intelligent visual experiences ready for the road:
The modern cockpit is filled with visuals, but more screens don’t automatically create a better driving experience. What drivers need is clarity, not clutter, and intelligence, not distraction. HARMAN, the automotive technology leader and subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., is advancing in-cabin visual experiences with a portfolio of ready-to-deploy display and windshield technologies designed to deliver clarity, efficiency and safety today and into the future.
Ready Display, powered by Samsung Neo QLED, is designed to strike that balance. As the industry’s first HDR10+ Automotive certified display, the Ready Display line delivers vivid color and real-time adaptive visuals while improving energy efficiency. The new Ready Display NQ1 adds a compelling performance-to-value option for OEMs with higher color gamut and better readability than standard LCDs through sharper contrast. NQ1 extends premium, Neo QLED-powered visual quality to more vehicle lines and trim levels, helping OEMs bring a high-end cockpit experience to a broader range of models. The Ready Display portfolio is already on the road, with Samsung Neo QLED–powered displays debuting in production vehicles, including the new Tata Motors Harrier.ev.
For the driver specifically, Ready Vision QVUE provides the right information where it belongs, in the natural line of sight to support safer driving. By transforming the windshield into a crisp, ultra-bright, pillar-to-pillar display, QVUE replaces conventional clusters and displays with a high-contrast, reflective Neo QLED solution engineered for clarity. QVUE intelligently adjusts how much information is shown based on driver context, offering a quick glance when focus is critical, richer detail when conditions allow, and the full picture when desired, so drivers always get the right amount of information at the right time, keeping the experience clear. Recent updates further enhance efficiency and intelligence, including Ready Care-enabled gaze detection to fine-tune brightness and object-obstruction detection that alerts users when items interfere with projection, helping ensure a safe and consistent visual experience.
QVUE also strengthens the connection between visuals and safety with new software-driven features like eMirror Live View, which helps drivers safely view blind curbs while turning and a video playback option for enjoying content when the vehicle is parked. Image-quality enhancements, including local dimming algorithms co-developed with Samsung, pixel compensation and gamma correction, support sharper visuals, while the new QVUE Canvas configurator provides an intuitive drag-and-drop experience for drivers and the QVUE UI Editor accelerates software development for OEMs.
Extending intelligent visual experiences even further into the driver’s line of sight, Ready Vision AR HUD delivers augmented reality as a production-proven solution, with vehicles already in series production in Europe. Featuring a large field of view, Ready Vision AR HUD offers exceptional readability with reduced eye strain, enabled by redesigned optics and improved mirror architecture. New thermal glass and mechanical packaging innovations allow the system to sustain brightness levels of up to 15,000 nits, even under high sun load, ensuring consistent clarity in real-world driving conditions.
On the software side, Ready Vision AR HUD has been significantly enhanced with a refined AR framework that’s already in-production in Europe, improved occlusion handling powered by AI/ML, and a new HUD Canvas configurator that makes setup more intuitive than traditional steering-wheel controls. OEMs can easily tailor branding and experiences using the HUD UI Editor, enabling rapid customization without added complexity. New features, including a Sports Package that tightly couples sensor fusion with track dynamics, curve speed warnings and a demo mode, demonstrate how AR can enhance both driving enjoyment and safety. Ready Vision AR HUD delivers a turnkey, automotive-grade AR solution that accelerates time-to-market while preserving full brand ownership for OEMs.
“As visual technologies take on a more active role in driving, the goal isn’t to show more—it’s to show what matters,” said Shilpa Dely, Vice President, Visual Experiences at HARMAN. “Our approach to visual experiences starts with human perception and ends with production-ready solutions that make driving safer, clearer and more intuitive.”
From cockpit displays to windshield-level information, these visual innovations form a unified strategy—premium by design, efficient by default and software-upgradable over time.
