Kia Seltos Crossed 6 Lakh Sales

Here’s what Kia India have to say about the 6 lakh sales milestone:

Kia India announced that the Seltos has crossed 6 lakh cumulative sales in India since its launch in 2019. The milestone reflects sustained customer acceptance across variants and markets, positioning the model as one of the most consistent performers in the mid-SUV segment.

At launch, the Seltos entered the market with a distinct product proposition, combining global design language with multiple powertrain options, including petrol and diesel variants, as well as automatic transmissions across fuel types. The model offered a feature-rich cabin with large-format infotainment, connected car technology, and premium interior finishes. At a time when the segment primarily focused on utility, the Seltos introduced greater emphasis on in-cabin experience, technology integration, and visual presence.

Safety and technology have remained central to its appeal. Through successive updates, the model incorporated advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), enhanced connectivity solutions, and a broader safety package. The continued 29 percent contribution from top trims indicates increasing customer preference for higher levels of safety, comfort, and digital integration, while steady demand across entry and mid variants reflects a balanced value proposition.

The Seltos also expanded expectations within its price band by offering features typically found in higher segments, enabling customers upgrading from hatchbacks, sedans, and compact SUVs to access a more premium ownership experience without moving to a larger category. Its wide variant mix has maintained relevance for both value-focused and feature-oriented buyers.

Commenting on the milestone, Mr. Sunhack Park, Chief Sales Officer, Kia India, said:

“Crossing 6 lakh sales reflects sustained customer preference for a product that delivers strong fundamentals in design, safety, technology and performance. Seltos expanded expectations in the mid-SUV segment by offering features and configurations that were not widely available at the time of its launch. The consistent uptake across variants, including strong demand for top trims, indicates growing customer confidence in advanced safety systems and connected technologies.”

The new-generation Seltos builds on this foundation, advancing Kia’s product pillars of enhanced presence, design, and progressive safety and technology. With a segment-leading length of 4,460 mm, width of 1,830 mm, and wheelbase of 2,690 mm, it offers increased interior space and road presence. The updated model features improved cabin refinement, an expanded digital interface, an upgraded ADAS suite, and strengthened safety architecture, while retaining multiple powertrain and transmission combinations valued by customers.

As Kia India progresses into its next phase of growth, the Seltos continues to anchor the company’s mid-SUV strategy with a comprehensive value proposition. The 6 lakh sales milestone underscores sustained market acceptance, while the updated model is positioned to attract both repeat buyers and new customers seeking a practical yet aspirational SUV.
