Volkswagen India have launched the Tayron R-Line at Rs. x lakh (ex-showroom). The Tayron R-Line is essentially the 3-row version of the Tiguan R-Line and marks Volkswagen’s return to the premium 7-seater SUV segment after the discontinuation of the Tiguan AllSpace in 2021.
Volkswagen Tayron R-Line Engine & Performance
Powering the Tayron R-Line is the same 2L turbo petrol engine as the Tiguan R-Line:
The engine is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, sending power to all 4 wheels via Volkswagen’s 4Motion all-wheel drive system. VW claim the Tayron R-Line can sprint from 0-100kmph in 7.3 seconds before hitting a top speed of 224kmph.
Volkswagen Tayron R-Line Exterior Highlights
Compared to the Tiguan R-Line, the Tayron features a longer wheelbase to accommodate the 3rd row of seats. Key exterior highlights include:
- Matrix LED headlamps
- LED lightbar with illuminated VW logo
- Connected LED tail lamps
- Illuminated rear logo
- R-Line specific bumpers and badging
- 19-inch alloy wheels
- Roof-mounted spoiler

The Tayron R-Line is 253mm longer, 7mm wider, 9mm taller and offers a 109mm longer wheelbase than the Tiguan R-Line.

Inside, the Tayron R-Line offers a tech-loaded and premium cabin. Notable features include:
- 15-inch touchscreen infotainment system
- 10.25-inch digital driver’s display
- Head-up display
- 11-speaker Harman Kardon sound system
- Panoramic sunroof
- Triple-zone automatic climate control
- 30-colour ambient lighting
- Wireless charger
- 6 drive modes
- Leatherette upholstery
- Powered front seats with memory
- Front seat heating, ventilation and massage functions
In terms of safety, the Tayron R-Line offers ADAS, auto parking, all wheel disc brakes.
