Lexus LF-Z Concept Showcased At 2023 Auto Expo

Lexus showcased its futuristic electric car concept, the LF-Z, at the 2023 Auto Expo. Apart from giving us a preview to Lexus’ upcoming technology, the LF-Z concept also gives us a sneak peek into the Japanese luxury carmaker’s future design language.

Lexus LF-Z Concept

First unveiled in 2021, the LF-Z concept’s design was used as a design inspiration for Lexus’ new RZ 450e electric 4-door wagon. The LF-Z is based on Lexus’ dedicated EV platform and features the carmaker’s Direct4 all-wheel-drive technology.

The LF-Z concept is 4880mm long, 1960mm wide and 1600mm tall. It has a wheelbase of 2950mm. As far as its electric powertrain is concerned, the LF-Z features a 90kWh battery pack and supports a charging capacity of 150kW. The electric powertrain consists of dual electric motors that produce a combine power output of 530PS and 700Nm of torque. Lexus claim the LF-Z can sprint from 0-100kmph in just 3 seconds, before hitting a limited top speed of 200kmph.

Other highlights of the LF-Z include Lexus’s Tazuna concept, which learns the driver’s preferences and behaviour using artificial intelligence to personalise various functions such as navigation and audio playback. The LF-Z also features a premium Mark Levinson sound system with noise cancellation technology for a refined cabin experience.
