The Brezza CNG is 15PS less powerful than the Brezza mild hybrid and produces 15Nm less torque. While the Brezza mild hybrid is available with both a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission, the Brezza CNG only gets a manual transmission. Although the power and torque deficit may seem a lot, buyers who prefer lower running costs over performance can take advantage of the lower cost of CNG than petrol.

Maruti Suzuki CNG Rivals

The Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG will soon face competition from other CNG-powered sub-4 metre SUVs. The Kia Sonet CNG was caught testing several times last year. However, Kia could delay the launch of the Sonet CNG until the launch of the Sonet CNG. While we had high hopes of witnessing the launch of the Sonet facelift at the 2023 Auto Expo, Kia are yet to unveil the car and are unlikely to do so at the auto show. When launched, however, the Kia Sonet CNG is likely to offer more performance since several rumours suggest the South Korean carmaker are likely to launch it with the 1.0L turbo petrol engine.

The Brezza CNG’s other rival will come from Tata in the form of the Nexon CNG. The Nexon CNG will be offered with a 1.2L turbocharged engine. Hence, it will offer more performance than the Brezza CNG. Additionally, since the Tata Nexon offers a 22 litre larger boot than the Brezza petrol, it is likely to offer more boot space than the Brezza CNG as well. Tata are also likely to price it a tad lower than the Maruti SUV, considering the current price difference between the petrol versions of both SUVs.
