Maruti Suzuki is preparing to launch the next- gen Ertiga in India. The MPV has already been spied a number of times testing in the country. The reports in the market suggest that the Indo- Japanese automaker will launch the 2018 Ertiga on November 21, next month. The India- bound facelifted Ertiga was first unveiled at the Indonesia at the International Motor Show earlier this year. The MPV has already been due for a facelift for a long time.

Maruti Suzuki's latest HEARTECT platform which currently underpins the Baleno, Swift and the Dzire will also underpin the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. In terms of looks and styling, the upcoming Ertiga gets all-new head LED lamps with DRLs placed on either side of a revised grille, more sophisticated front grille with added chrome units, front bumper with aggressive fog lamp housings, front lip and added black mesh along with a floating roof design at the sides, while the rear gets new aggressive LED tail lamps stretching all the way to the C-pillar as well as multi-spoke alloys, keyless entry, and turn indicators on ORVMs. These entire changes make the upcoming look quite different compared to the outgoing model as well as the newly launched Swift and Dzire.

Other than these, the Ertiga also gets new 15- inch alloy wheels and chrome outlining on the license plate. Also, the MPV has become a bit bigger in almost every manner as the length has gone up by 99 mm, width has increased by about 40 mm and the height has increased by 5 mm.

At the inside, the 2018 Ertiga looks similar to the newly launched Dzire with dual-tone interiors. The MPV gets tilt steering, touchscreen infotainment, 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel, a twin-dial instrument cluster, dual-airbags on all variants, ISOFIX seats, ABS with Electronic Brake Distribution as standard. However, the Stability Control feature is expected to be offered only with the ESP GX variant that is likely to be the top-spec variant for the Indonesian market.

Mechanically, the next- gen Ertiga will come powered by a 1.5-litre petrol, 4-cylinder engine capable pf churning out 104.7 bhp and 138 Nm of peak torque. The in- house developed engine by Suzuki will be mated to a 5- speed manual and a 4- speed automatic transmission. On the hother hand, the diesel engine will be 1.3-litre, DDiS oil-burner producing 88 bhp along with 200 Nm of peak torque also featuring the SHVS mild-Hybrid technology. The MPV is slated to get automatic gearbox options for both its petrol and diesel variants, however Maruti Suzuki still has to confirm the same.

Already on sale in several global markets, the facelifted Ertiga will be little costlier compared to the existing model in the Indian market as the MPV gets a number of additional features with the facelift. Though, there are no details about the pricing, but it is expected to be priced starting from around Rs 7 lakh, ex- showroom. When launched, the new Ertiga will go up against the recently launched Mahindra Marazzo. Stay tuned to for further updates on the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Ertiga facelift.
