Kia India To Launch Electric RV In 2025 | V3Cars

At the launch of the EV6 electric crossover, Kia revealed their EV plans for the Indian market. Kia are working on an all-electric Recreational Vehicle (RV) which will go on sale in India in 2025. Kia revealed that they will engineer and manufacture itlocally, at the Anantapur manufacturing plant.

While Kia are calling it an RV, we are yet to learn whether it will offer 2 or 3 rows of seating. The upcoming all-electric RV could be an SUV or an MPV, or a mix of both as we see with the Kia Carens. Further, Kia also revealed their global EV strategy. Kia will launch 14 all-electric models by 2027 globally and Kia will consider a few of these models for the Indian market too.

Speaking of the Kia EV6, the electric crossover garnered 355 bookings even before the price announcement. Kia India planned to import only 100 units of the EV6 initially. However, to serve the overwhelming demand, Kia India are in talks with Kia global headquarters to green flag more EV6 electric crossovers for the Indian market.

The Kia EV6 comes with a 77.4kWh battery pack and a WLTP-certified range of 528km on a single charge. Kia will offer two drivetrain options with the EV6 — rear-wheel-drive and 4-wheel-drive. The rear-wheel-drive EV6 produces 229PS of power and 350Nm of torque whereas the 4-wheel-drive version makes 325PS of power and 605Nm of torque. Kia India offer an 8-year/1.6 lakh kilometre warranty for the battery and electric motor of the EV6. On the other hand, the standard warranty is 3-year/unlimited kilometre.
