SUV Segment March 2024 Car Sales - YoY Change

  • Top Performers:
    • Tata Punch demonstrated the highest YoY increase in sales, with a remarkable change of 6,653 units or 61.07%. This indicates strong market acceptance and demand for the model.
    • Hyundai's Creta also experienced a significant YoY growth, with sales increasing by 2,432 units or 17.34%. This suggests sustained popularity and consumer preference for the Creta in the SUV segment.
    • Mahindra's Scorpio N + Classic witnessed substantial YoY growth, indicating a resurgence in demand for this model compared to the previous year.
  • Maruti Suzuki's Performance:
    • Maruti Suzuki's Brezza and S-Presso experienced YoY declines in sales, indicating possible challenges in maintaining market share or competitive pressure within the segment.
    • Maruti Nexa's Fronx and Grand Vitara showcased stable sales performance compared to the previous year, reflecting consistent demand for these models.
  • New Entrants and Emerging Trends:
    • Several new entrants, such as Hyundai's Alcazar, Kia's Sonet, and Toyota's Hyryder, made significant contributions to the SUV segment, indicating dynamic market dynamics and evolving consumer preferences.

  • Top Losers:
    • Maruti Suzuki Brezza and Maruti Nexa Fronx both experienced declines in sales, with Brezza witnessing a decrease of 1,151 units or 7.30%, and Fronx experiencing a decline of 1,637 units or 11.55%.
