The Ertiga continues to get the same 1.5-litre petrol engine as before. In its BS4 guise, this engine produced 105PS of maximum power and 138Nm of peak torque. The petrol engine was previously available with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed torque converter. The same transmissions will be carried over with the BS6 engine as well.

The Ertiga is available in diesel guise as well, with two engine options -- 1.3-litre and 1.5-litre. Both these engines continue to be offered as BS4 units and Maruti Suzuki does not have any plan to upgrade these to meet the more stringent BS6 emission norms. Both these engines can be had with a manual transmission only.

Maruti Suzuki is going to introduce Ertiga-based XL6 MPV in India on 21 August 2019. It is expected to be powered by the same 1.5-litre, BS6 petrol engine as the Ertiga. The XL6 will be a heavily remodelled version of the Ertiga and will feature captain seats in the middle, thereby making it a six seater. It is expected to be more feature loaded than the Ertiga, and, therefore, could be more expensive as well. Read in detail about the differences between XL6 and Ertiga here.
