Toyota India recently launched the Rumion MPV and at the outset, it seems nothing but a rebadged Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, which it precisely is. But there are more details than what meets the eye. In this detailed comparison, we will compare the Toyota Rumion with the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and find out if the Rumion is any better than its Maruti sibling. Read on to know the top differences between the Toyota Rumion and Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.

Toyota Rumion Vs Maruti Suzuki Ertiga — Exterior Design And Dimension Differences

Before delving into the details, let’s address the things that do meet the eye. The Rumion offers a considerable amount of design changes at the front and side profiles. Starting with the front, it offers a larger grille with a honeycomb mesh finish along with the Toyota badge in the centre. It also gets a reprofiled bumper, which also boasts new housings for the fog lights. Around the side, the only change is the new design for the alloy wheels. At the rear, the Toyota and Rumion badge are the only two differences separating the Rumion from its Maruti sibling.

However, there is one small detail worth mentioning. While the Ertiga and Rumion do not have any change in terms of overall dimensions, the sportier bumper design of the Rumion gives it a few milimeters worth of extra length, making it exceed 4.4 metres. Hence, as per the internal classification of V3Cars, we consider it as a C2-segment MPV whereas the Ertiga belongs in the C1 segment. The rest of the dimensions of the Ertiga and Rumion are exactly the same.
