India’s largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki, has completed a new affordable housing project called the Maruti Suzuki Enclave. The carmaker has handed over the keys to the first batch of employees and the remaining 360 houses will be handed over in a phased manner. It is the third housing project by the carmaker and is located in Dharuhera. The other two projects are located in Chakkarpur, Gurugram and Bhondsi, respectively.
Just like any other housing project by Maruti, the houses in this township will be owned and managed by the employees themselves. Talking about the benefits of its projects, Maruti Suzuki says that it has facilitated employees by way of bulk negotiation for land and building, coordination with Haryana government for approvals and monitoring the quality and execution through a professional agency. The company has supported financially and facilitated soft loans. The employees have also availed of the benefits under the government schemes Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana and Deen Dayal Jan Awas Yojana. Both of the above-mentioned affordable housing schemes were launched by the central and the state governments respectively.
Talking about some features of the Maruti Suzuki Enclave, it gets gardens, LED street lights, rainwater harvesting, a sewage treatment plant, among others. Maruti Says that these houses have been constructed using the Monolithic Construction Technology which is said to be more eco-friendly than the conventional brick laying process.
