The new updated 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe has been testing for quite some time now, but while the standard refreshed GLC test mule has been spotted by the spy cameras a number of times, the coupe-SUV version has been recently spotted for the first time. Moreover, the test prototype model of the Mercedes GLC Coupe facelift has been spied testing with minimal camouflages, which resulted in offering a sneak-peek at most of the exterior design updates. Mercedes ditched the heavy black and white patterned camouflages and opted for some light-coloured veils to cover certain parts of the GLC Coupe facelift. The front fenders were covered pretty nicely and so were the bumpers as well as the tail lights, offering a clear idea that these parts of the vehicle will be receiving the maximum changes. The rest of the testing model was left uncovered and was even flaunting the three-pointed star logo proudly.
The updated 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe will be boasting of a patent star-studded grille design that’s horizontally parted by a single sliver slat and house the company at the centre. The mid-sized coupe SUV will be getting considerable amount of updates on its front fascia. It will get revised headlights, which are very similar to what the standard GLC will get, and this can be seen in the car’s partly veiled headlights. The side profile of the test prototype is seen flaunting newly designed chunky 5-spoke alloy wheels, while the rear design also seems to be mildly refreshed. The vehicle is expected to get revised bumpers, although the rear bumper seems to be quite similar to that of the outgoing model. There will also be new cluster pattern for the tail lights, which will retain the ongoing wraparound styling. The test prototype model was not testing with the chrome finished exhaust tip that’s seen on the current model, but it might get it later.
The spy pictures of the new refreshed GLC Coupe showed only the exterior styling changes, while the cabin hasn’t yet been snapped. However, it is said that the updated Merc coupe-SUv will come with a whole host of new interior updates and added new features. It is speculated that the vehicle will get an all-digital instrument cluster along with larger display integrated infotainment system. While the GLC Coupe fans will love to get Mercedes new AI-based MBUX infotainment unit on the facelift model, as the recently unveiled refreshed C-Class didn't receive this great feature, the updated GLC lineup is also not likely to get it. Thus, expect to see the same COMAND system on the GLC models. Other changes are expected to include new seat upholstery and new interior trims apart from few more updated equipments.
The 2019 refreshed Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe is likely to pack in the same engine range that was introduced on the refreshed C-Class. This means the new 1.5L turbocharged, engine offering 184 bhp along with 280 Nm and a 2.0L diesel unit for the top-end models, delivering 245 bhp and 500 Nm. The GLC Coupe facelift will be unveiled in a few months, when its engine range will be confirmed.
