The all new avatar of the popular Hyundai i10 compact hatch is all set to launch in India on 20th August 2019. The next generation model has been named as the Grand i10 Nios and the pre-launch bookings of the car have been commenced as well. And now, the all new Hyundai Grand i10 Nios’ variant list, powertrains and colour options have been revealed as well.
It is already known that the new Grand i10 Nios, which is the 3rd generation model of the hatchback, will be co-existing with its predecessor the Grand i10 in the Indian car market. The new-gen model will be available in the same variants as its predecessor, but it will get some differences in the powertrain options for each variant.
The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios will pack in the same 1.2 litre petrol and diesel engines as its predecessor as well, but will come with an AMT gearbox option in both versions.
The following is a look at the variant-wise powertrain options on the Grand i10 Nios:
1.2 litre Petrol MT
1.2 litre Petrol AMT
1.2 litre Diesel MT
1.2 litre Diesel AMT
Sportz Dual Tone
The entry level Era will be a petrol-only model, as will be the top Sportz Dual Tone variant, and both will get only the manual transmission. The range topping Asta trim will not be getting AMT option following the typical Hyundai lineup.
The 1.2 litre petrol along with AMT gearbox will be offered only on the Nios’ Magna and Sportz variants. On the other hand, the diesel Sportz variant will be offered exclusively with the AMT gearbox, while the diesel Magna model will be equipped with only manual transmission.
Coming to the colour options that will be available on the new 2019 Grand i10 Nios, the hatch will be available in 2 dual-tone exterior colour schemes - Polar White with Black roof and Aqua Teal with Black roof. The dual tone models are likely to get an all-black interior theme.
The all new Hyundai Grand i10 Nios will continue with 6 monotone colours, but will get 3 new colour shades replacing the ones available on the ongoing model. These are namely - Polar White, Typhoon Silver, Fiery Red, Titan Grey (new), Aqua Blue (new) and Aqua Teal (new).
The base model Era will miss out all the three new exterior colour options, while the featured colour Aqua Blue will be available only from the Sportz variant onwards. The Grand i10 Nios’ 3 new colour options have replaced Marina Blue, Flame Orange and Star Dust body colour options which are available on the second-gen Grand i10.
The variant-wise features details of the new-gen Hyundai Grand i10 Nios are expected only at the time of its official launch. The new-gen hatchback is expected to come with a price range of around Rs. 5.2 lakhs to Rs. 7.7 lakhs. Post its launch in the Indian car market, the i10 Nios will fight it out with the likes of the segment leader Maruti Suzuki Swift, Maruti Suzuki Ignis, Ford Figo and Nissan Micra.
